Let's Start All Over Again, Shall We (Maggie and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 120

Chapter 120 Look Good on Him

Nathael’s face, still not free of its amused expression, suddenly stiffened, visibly turning ghastly pale at Maggie’s remarks.

When Maggie noticed this, she couldn’t help but feel a bit of joy herself.

Sometimes happiness was simple.

She had spent the money and wanted to get her money’s worth out of it, even though this particular enjoyment was proving to be quite expensive.

Sofia asked Nathael for an address to have the items delivered, sparing them the trouble of carrying everything themselves.

As they left the store. Nathael glanced at another shop across the way and said calmly, “Let’s have a look.”

Without waiting for Maggie’s response, he started towards it.

Maggie paused for a few seconds before hurrying after him and grabbing his sleeve. She asked, “Why are you checking it out if you aren’t going to buy it?”

Maggie was now genuinely scared. This man was filthy rich, but she was broke.

If he picked up a few more items, she wouldn’t have anything left by the time they left the mall.

Nathael raised an eyebrow, his gaze wicked. “Aren’t you supposed to spoil me?”

Maggie was speechless, realising he held a grudge over her earlier outburst. How could this man be so petty? She had spent the money; why couldn’t she have her little moment of verbal revenge?

After scolding Nathael, Maggie started scolding herself.

Why did she always have to provoke him, knowing full well he wasn’t a merciful or easygoing guy?

Maggie sighed softly. She didn’t really want to do that.

But sometimes, she just couldn’t help it.

“Of course, I’m spoiling you, but there are many ways to do so, not just through shopping,” Maggie bluffed earnestly. Despite her composed words, she was holding onto Nathael’s sleeve for dear life, determined not to let him enter another store.

As she continued, she became more convinced of her righteousness.

“And look, is it easy for me to make money? It’s hard enough to support you, and you don’t know how to save money. Don’t you love me anymore?”

Maggie looked up at him. She wrinkled her brow a little. Her clear eyes were filled with discontent and sorrow, as if demanding an answer.

Alex stood not far behind the couple, expressionless.

Indeed, their playfulness made them a perfect match.

Chapter 120 Look Good on Him

Nathael looked down at the woman in front of him, her face filled with seriousness, as if anxiously waiting for his answer. She appeared nervous and caring.

He knew it was just another one of her games, but he couldn’t help but take it seriously.

“What’s the point of fussing over me, Ms. Adam, when I’m not as well–behaved as other men?”

Maggie paused for a moment, feeling a bit bitter with his answer for no reason.

She raised her brow and scrutinized his expression. Then, she asked with a smile, “Are you jealous?”

Nathael cracked with laughter, though his dark eyes held little humor.

“Don’t flatter yourself. A woman like you aren’t worthy of that.”

Maggie nodded in agreement, but was inwardly pondering what kind of woman he was referring to. After thinking it through, she looked up at him and said, “It’s normal for you to have some misconceptions about me, considering I want to bring happiness to every boy.”

Nathael was taken aback by her shamelessness, which was indeed eye–opening for–him.

Maggie didn’t want to continue this topic. Holding his arm and not letting go, she looked up at him and said softly, “Nathael, let’s make up.”

She truly didn’t want to keep battling with him. Not only was it exhausting, but she also couldn’t outwit him.

Every time she faced Nathael, it was like hurting the enemy while severely damaging herself.

It didn’t make sense, no matter how she looked at it.

Furthermore, they were on the same side.

Why should they fight so badly with each other?

So, wouldn’t it be better to be a loving family than to make loved ones suffer and enemies rejoice?
