Chapter 129 Whatever You Say
After her morning classes, Maggie got a call from Joseph.
Joseph and Vanessa had already reached Misk City and planned to visit the designer, Annie, in the afternoon.
“Maggie, join us this afternoon. I want to pick out some jewelry for Mom and Grandma. You know their tastes best, so your advice would be great,” Joseph said warmly, confident that Maggie wouldn’t decline.
And indeed. Maggie had no intention of refusing.
After she had dealt with Shawn, Joseph and Vanessa went on the hunt for new designers for Luster Corporation.
Even though the Camerons were stepping back into the jewelry business, they already had designers. However, since they were making a big move, injecting fresh talent was necessary.
So, recruiting renowned foreign designers was a crucial step in Ronald’s plan.
“Sure, send me the details.”
Joseph was pleased that Maggie agreed.
At 1:00 PM, a sleek Porsche parked in front of the hotel. Joseph was behind the wheel, and Vanessa sat in the passenger seat.
Observing this. Maggie raised an eyebrow.
“Maggie, it’s been a while!” Vanessa greeted cheerfully, as if any past issues didn’t exist as Maggie joined them in the car and sat in the backseat.
Maggie admired Vanessa’s attitude.
Once Maggie was seated, Vanessa spoke again. “Maggie, there’s water, drinks, and fruit. Help yourself.”
Seeing Vanessa play host, Maggie found it amusing.
Not saying much, Maggie noticed Joseph’s slight frown as he glanced at Maggie in the rearview mirror.
Maggie wore a champagne–colored dress that highlighted her fair skin and natural glow, with her hair casually tousled. Wearing subtle makeup, she emitted a relaxed elegance.
Compared to her, Vanessa appeared to be trying too hard. She worked on every part of her appearance, but although she looked beautiful as well, it felt rigid and boring.
Joseph’s gaze lingered on Maggie’s face, but she showed no concern, her eyes cool and defiant.
“Maggie, feel free to share your thoughts at the designer’s store. Although you might not know much about jewelry, sometimes an outsider’s perspective is valuable,” Vanessa said with a smile.
In response, Maggie smirked. “I’ll have to thank you in advance for asking for my useless input.

Chapter 129 Whatever You Say
She felt that she and Vanessa were part of a sick joke. She studied architecture and taught herself jewelry design, but Vanessa did the same as well.
Naturally. Vanessa’s skills were lacking, a fact Maggie preferred not to dwell on.
Well, I’ll just let Vanessa put her ‘skills‘ to use at the Camerons, then.
Seeing Maggie’s reaction, Vanessa smiled warmly. “No worries. But I thought I’d missed the chance for an exchange program at college and would never get to experience it, but Joseph brought me here. What a Twist of fate! Don’t you agree, Maggie?”
Leaning back, Maggie replied casually, “You’re not wrong. Considering your background, you might’ve never gotten an opportunity to travel abroad otherwise.”
Vanessa’s expression fell upon hearing that. She didn’t expect Maggie to speak so harshly.
“You’re right. It’s understandable that you would look down on my family. Anyway, I should thank Joseph. I wouldn’t have gotten this chance if it weren’t for him.”
Vanessa sighed lightly, appearing a bit hurt.
Maggie smirked as she glanced at the European–style buildings outside. “So, you should choose a good family in your next life.”
