It was a dream or more like a perverted fantasy,” Tiffany sneered, and the words hit like a punch to the gut. Sam, Laura, and I kept our mouths shut, knowing anything we said could make things worse.
“Nothing to say?” Tiffany taunted, “Good–because if someone had to catch wind of some ridiculous story that, Luke would have been interested in you… it’s a joke.”
She laughed, a cold, mocking sound, and walked out of the bathroom, leaving us standing there in stunned silence.
“Shit,” Laura said, her voice filled with worry.
I nodded, feeling a knot of anxiety in my stomach. “Double shit.”
We stepped outside into the hallway, and the first stare hit me. Then another. And another. The more I looked around, the more people snickered and laughed.
For the first time this week, I saw Luke staring right at me, and he looked pissed. Great, he ignored me the whole week and now decided to change that. I would have preferred he had still avoided me.
My cheeks grew hot, and I could feel tears starting to form.
I heard someone say, “Apparently, she had a fantasy about. Luke, like a sexual fantasy.” Other people laughed, and I saw the look on Sam and Luara’s faces – the pity.
