She came here several times during the days that you weren’t here.” After a pause, she continued, “She even came here this morning, and you wouldn’t imagine how disappointed she was when she was told that you weren’t around. I told her you’d be back in the evening, and I didn’t think she’d be so excited to see you that she came before lunch!”
