At night, Jasper got a call from Wendy.
“Honey, do you have any orders?”
“My dad will arrive at Nauritus City at eight o’clock in the evening. I still have something to do here so please help me pick him up at the gate of the residential area,” Wendy said in a tired tone.
“Your father is coming to see us?” Jasper was a little surprised.
On the other end of the phone, Wendy was hesitant to say anything. She hesitated before saying, “No, my dad traveled abroad last month, and this time he came back directly from abroad.”
Upon hearing this, Jasper could not help but feel thoughtfully, “That’s good, right? He can’t stay at home all the time anyway. It’s good to let him travel around to free his mind.”
However, after he finished speaking, Wendy was silent on the other end of the phone. She only spoke again after a while.
“Anyway, I told you in advance to prepare you mentally. This time my dad brought one more person back to Somerland.”
“What? Could it be that our dad has got a new lease on life?” Jasper asked in shock.
“Well, yes, otherwise he wouldn’t bring her back to the country,” Wendy said in a worried tone.
“That’s a good thing, right? Didn’t you always want to find a partner for your dad before this? Now that he has found her himself, it will save us both some trouble,” Jasper said with a grin.
However, Wendy was not so optimistic about this matter. She sighed softly and said, “I did think so before, but I also hope that the person my dad found is someone whom he knows through and through and also someone who knows her duty. You know, since you started the JW Group and made it popular on an international level, we’ve been living at the center of attention. Naturally it will also attract some people with ulterior motives, I’m worried…”
Wendy did not continue her sentence.
Jasper smiled slightly and began to ease Wendy’s worries. “I understand what you mean, but don’t worry too much. After all, our dad doesn’t work in JW Group. Even if someone wants to approach him, it won’t cause any trouble. Well, I’ll go to the airport to pick up our dad now. We’ll talk when you get home, okay?”
“Alright, fine… I’ll get on with my work now.”
Wendy hung up the phone.
Half an hour later, Jasper arrived at the gate of the residential area. From a distance, he saw Dawson pushing a suitcase and holding the hand of a middle-aged woman. The two were walking towards him while chatting and laughing.
“She still has something to take care of today, so she asked me to pick you two up. I’ve already booked a hotel to welcome you two. Let’s get in the car first. Wendy will go over later,” Jasper explained with a smile.
Dawson nodded. “Okay.”
Jasper helped them carry their luggage to the car before getting in. Then, he stepped on the accelerator and headed directly to the door of a hotel in Nauritus City. The three got out of the car at the entrance of the hotel.
When May looked at the stunning luxury in front of her, she tugged at Dawson’s arms tightly with both hands and said after swallowing some saliva, “Dawson, is there such a high-end hotel in Nauritus City? It’s much more luxurious than what was filmed on TV. It must be very expensive to spend money here, right? Why don‘t we move to another place? We shouldn’t burn a hole in Jasper and Wendy’s pockets.”
Jasper interrupted them with a smile, “Aunty May, don’t worry, I usually come here with my friends. Besides, it‘s just some wine and food, so I can still afford to spend on you and my dad.”
After listening to what he said, May still behaved somewhat restrained. Her financial condition was just average. She had never been to any places that were high-end, let alone a top-notch place like this.
At this time, Jasper said, “Okay, Dad, Aunty May, let’s go in. Wendy should be here later.”
