Wilbur turned his head and saw two middle-aged men with two bodyguards glaring at him angrily. One of the men, who bore some resemblance to Elise, rushed forward and snatched Elise from Wilbur's arms.
"Who are you?" Wilbur frowned.
Lindon said coldly, "I'm her father. Who are you? What's your name? And why did you get Elise drunk?"
A series of questions made Wilbur pause for a moment before he slowly replied, "My name is Wilbur. I've known Elise before. I just happened to run into her tonight at the food truck on the back street. She seemed upset and asked me to drink with her. She got drunk, so I was just preparing to get her a room here to rest. That's all."
"Hmph, sounds good. But I think you have ulterior motives, don't you?" Carlson waved his hand, and two bodyguards surrounded Wilbur.
Wilbur furrowed his brows and said, "I'm speaking the truth. When Elise wakes up, you can ask her and you'll know. Don't cause trouble here and become a laughingstock to outsiders."
"With your little tricks, do you think I don't know? Do we even need to ask Elise?" Carlson shouted loudly. "Come with us. I want to ask you properly how you met Elise."
Wilbur's face darkened, and he said with a frown, "For the sake of us being fellow countrymen, I won't argue with you. Take Elise back to rest, and I'll go rest too."
"Oh." Carlson exploded upon hearing this.
Being bullied by those people from Earl Hans was one thing, but now a brat dared to speak to him like this. If this were back home, he would have dealt with him immediately.
"Kid, do you know who you're talking to?" Carlson motioned to his bodyguards, speaking icily.
The two bodyguards moved forward to act, but then Lindon intervened, "Enough, let's go back first. We still have things to deal with tomorrow."
The two bodyguards stopped, and Carlson snorted coldly, clearly still very annoyed.
Lindon carried Elise and said to Wilbur, "We're not holding you accountable tonight, but it doesn't mean you're off the hook. If Elise wakes up and says anything, you better be prepared. I won't hesitate to punish you severely."
With that, Lindon and his group headed towards the elevator. As Carlson entered the elevator, he glared fiercely at Wilbur, indicating that this was far from over.
Wilbur sighed helplessly and walked towards another elevator.
