In the car sat Frank and a Sanctuary level elite, both of whom were quite shocked by the sight of Wilbur taking down the two Ambience level cultivators with such ease.
"You sure are powerful, sir…"
"Are you perhaps at the Sanctuary level, too?" asked the elite sitting in the back as he looked at Wilbur sitting in the passenger seat.
Wilbur chuckled at the elite's question, but Frank was in complete shock.
"It doesn't matter what level I'm at. What matters is that I know you're at the Sanctuary level, and that's enough! You have two choices. Either take a risk and see if you can kill me or leave on your own to avoid any more trouble. I've never had anything against the Taylor Assassins, nor do I want to have any bad blood against you. But if you insist on attacking me, I don't mind burning that bridge, either!"
The Sanctuary level cultivator frowned at those words, falling silent for a beat before finally bowing to Wilbur. "Well, then. I'm afraid the Taylor Assassins will have to breach the agreement we've made. I'll be sure to report this to my higher-ups. What they do after that, however, is out of my hands."
The elite bid farewell to Wilbur, exiting the car and hauling the two Ambience level cultivators before disappearing into the trees by the road.
Frank and Wilbur were the only ones left in the car, and Frank was the first to speak. "I didn't expect you to be so powerful, sir. Even a Sanctuary level elite was wary of you. I'm just curious as to why you chose to meddle in all this, considering how powerful you are. Why become a medical intern?"
Wilbur leaned back in his chair calmly. "Any human being deserves the equal right to live. Don't even think that you can do as you please just because you're a little more powerful! The way I see it, you're no more than a bunch of low lives tearing at each other to get the biggest profit."
