Chapter 278
“What? Are you really going to arrest me? I’m warning you! Don’t mess with me.” Barry was holding his ground as well.
Just then, Jose whispered into the leader’s ear, “Just make sure he leaves. Miss Yves doesn’t wish for more trouble to come out of something minor like this.”
The leader nodded, and said to Barry, “I’ll walk you out, but I won’t be as kind if you cause any more trouble.”
Barry scoffed, then turned to leave.
The leader followed closely behind him until they were out of the stadium.
Wilbur snorted. Some people really thought that they could do whatever they wanted just because they had a bit of money.
Jose came out of the lounge, hurrying to bow to Wilbur
Wilbur patted him on the shoulder. “Not bad.”
“It’s my duty to do so,” Jose said at once.
Wilbur smiled and went backstage with Jose.
Just then, Sammy had finally agreed to return to the stage after Faye had spoken to her.
The music started, and Sammy took the stage in a stunning outfit. The crowd erupted with cheers, and the concert was back on track.
Faron smiled. “Sammy really is beautiful.”
“Do you want to ask if she can spend the night with you?” Wilbur snickered.
Faron’s expression darkened. “What are you trying to imply, bro? I’m calling my lawyers.”
“You rich boys love pulling that card, don’t you,” Wilbur teased.
Faron sighed. “Yeah, right. That’s if my dad doesn’t kill me first.”
Just then, Faye walked over. “What are you guys talking about?”
“Nothing. We’re just making small talk,” Wilbur hurried to say.
Faye let out a sigh. “I didn’t expect that Barry guy to be such a pain. We almost got into so much trouble.”
“It seems like he likes Sammy a lot,” Faron said.
Faye said, “Yeah, I could tell. Most of the crowd tonight came for Sammy’s sake too. That’s why they were so angry when she refused to perform.”
“It should be fine now. I’ll be heading back, then,” Wilbur said.
Faye nodded. “Aren’t you going to watch the show?”
“What’s there to watch?” Wilbur turned to leave. Faron waved at Faye as the two men made their way back home to drink. They were just about to start having fun when they were cut off.
Faye watched them leave and let out a long sigh.
For some reason, whenever something happened, Wilbur would be the first person she thought of.
It felt like anything
ould be resolved as long as Wilbur was around.
Faye did not know when she began to rely on him so much.
After letting out another long sigh, Faye went back to work.
Barry got into his stretch limousine after he left the stadium, taking a furious swig of whiskey before hurling the glass on the floor and shattering it. “How f*cking dare you, Sammy Shandon. I’ll teach you a lesson real soon. We’re going back to Toneville.”
The chauffeur started driving Barry back to Toneville.
