Wilbur chuckled, then tightened his right fist, and finally used some spiritual energy as he punched the zombie.
With a loud explosion, the horrifying zombie exploded to pieces, turning into dust in the air. Meanwhile, Wilbur reached out to grab the man.
The spiritual energy on that man's body was snuffed out by Wilbur's overwhelming power in an instant. After that, Wilbur held him up helplessly with one hand.
"Damn it. Why do you have to force my hand?" Wilbur asked coldly.
The man finally got to his senses and hurriedly said, "Sir, please spare me. I'm just trying to make some money with my tricks. I didn't commit any immoral deeds."
"What did you say? How do you explain the situation with the corpse of Yanfren's father?" Wilbur reprimanded.
The man was completely immobilized in Wilbur's grasp. The spiritual energy in his body seemed to have frozen solid. Out of desperation, he begged, "While I was cheating people of their money in Seechertown… I mean, when I was traveling there, I heard that Yanfren was quite rich, so I looked into his background. I merely animated the corpse to scare him. All I wanted was just some easy money."
Just then, the devotees were overcome with shock. They could not believe that their so-called Master turned out to be a charlatan.
Wilbur sneered and said, "At least you came clean. However, using such shameless tricks to earn money brings shame to all cultivators. I need to punish you and ensure you won't be a menace to others in the future."
With that said, Wilbur dropped the man and balled up his fist. At that instant, a wave of terrible spiritual pressure emanated from him.
The man turned pale from the fear. He was just a greedy beginner Ambience level cultivator who knew how to animate corpses. Who would have thought that he would run into someone so powerful?
That tremendous spiritual energy was not something he could go up against.
"Sir, please spare me. I don't think I deserve to die!" the man begged frantically.
Wilbur was only trying to scare him and teach him a small lesson.
If the man was willing to admit his mistakes, Wilbur would just give him a light beating. If he remained stubborn, then Wilbur would destroy his cultivation and cripple him. Wilbur did not plan on killing him at all.
