“Thanks, Bro,” Faron said feebly before beginning to meditate.
Wilbur watched over him silently
The cultivation method Wilbur had channeled into Faron was his own Dragon’s Chant, but Faron would not be able to reach Wilbur’s level without the Dragonsoul.
Yet this meant that Faron had taken a step into the world of cultivation and was officially a cultivator. What he could achieve in the future would depend on himself.
Over at the police station, Elsa sat behind her desk in her office with her brows tightly furrowed.
Remy had confessed to everything after an afternoon of tense interrogation.
All the men and women who took part in Remmy’s shows had been forced into doing so by Remy himself, who had also drugged them to perform under its influence.
They had also tracked the message Remy had sent out on a computer, and it led to one of the higher-ups of Seechertown.
Just as Elsa had put out a warrant for this person’s arrest, he had already run away.
That was alright, though. His escape was enough to prove his guilt, and he would be detained sooner or later with a warrant
out for his arrest.
It was the drug used throughout Remy’s crimes that Elsa was worried about
This type of drug was able to numb its user’s senses and suppress their sense of fatigue. They would be energetic and excitable all the time without needing any rest, and prolonged consumption of the drug would lead to death by or gan failure within two to three years.
Remy had also confessed where the drugs came from, and Elsa had already ordered some people on her team to go after the
Yet Remy said that whoever supplied the drugs to him was highly skilled and powerful, with superhuman levels of strength.
Elsa understood that this person had to be a cultivator, and cultivators were definitely beyond her ability to handle. Thus, she did not dare to take this lightly.
After thinking for a long time, she decided to report the situation to her superior so that she would be able to request outsourced backup from Wilbur to take part in capturing whoever was peddling these drugs around.
Upon making up her mind, she reached out to her superior at once. She also made a call to Wilbur, inviting him to come over to the station to discuss the matter.
A little over an hour later, Wilbur was in Elsa’s office.
“Mister Penn, I’m going to need your help this time,” Elsa said with a smile.
Wilbur flopped onto the couch with a sigh. “You made me leave one of the most important people in Kardon Province to help you get a guy. Aren’t you worried something might happen to him?”
“Whatever happens to him is of his own doing. This is something serious. If I don’t find this person and these drugs continue to spread around, it’s only going to cause more danger,” Elsa said.
Wilbur nodded. “Got it. Well, let’s hurry up and get this guy. I’m in a hurry.”
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
“Come in,” Elsa said.
A stern-looking man in his thirties walked in. He was wearing training clothes and had a black briefcase in his hand.
2/2
The man said coldly, “Ryder Litwing, from the Department of Paranormal Research and Defense. I’m here to a**ist with the ongoing investigation.”
“Hello and welcome! Please have a seat!” Elsa hurried to greet Ryder, getting him a gla** of water and putting it in front of him.
Wilbur stopped short upon hearing the department’s name.
A department like this existed? There really was a department for anything in the country these days, huh?
Ryder pushed the gla** of water to the side icily. “Let’s begin, Chief Janae. I need to go back before tomorrow morning.”
