One million?
Upon hearing this, Chris Shelby's eyes revealed a hint of coldness. Despite the fact that he rear-ended another vehicle, it wasn't serious. Yet, the demand was for one million dollars. It was obvious that the young man saw him as a cash cow to be exploited.
Chris Shelby let out a cold laugh. How dare someone attempt to exploit him on the East Coast? He had had enough! For Chris Shelby, one million was a drop in the bucket. Even though he was wealthy, it didn't mean he could be extorted. Even if he were to donate the money to the poor, he wouldn't give a dishonest person one million.
"Just because I barely touched you, you demand one million? Are you trying to rob me?" Chris Shelby sneered.
"Kid, I am trying to rob you. What are you going to do about it?"
Seeing that Chris Shelby was unwilling to pay, the young man's face darkened. "Don't you even know who I am? My name is Dingley Byng, from the flourishing Byng family of the East Coast. My father is the Chairman of Byng Corporation."
"Be wise and hand over a million, or there will be consequences," he threatened.
The Byng family had risen to prominence in the East Coast after Chris Shelby obliterated the Ye and Lan families. Initially a second-tier family, the Byng family had now become a top-tier family. Dingley Byng, as the son of the Byng family's chairman, was quite pleased with himself. In his eyes, Chris Shelby was just a wealthy man - nothing compared to himself. Even if he bled out Chris Shelby, what could Chris Shelby do?
Although Dingley Byng wasn't lacking in money, his father kept a tight hold on his expenses, and hadn't given him much pocket money that month. If he could squeeze some cash from Chris Shelby, it would be very beneficial to him.
Observing Dingley Byng's arrogant demeanor, Chris Shelby decided not to use his status to intimidate him. Firstly, Dingley Byng didn't deserve it, and secondly, Chris Shelby wanted to see what the Byng family was made of. Lastly, Chris Shelby had little knowledge about the internal situation of the East Coast, as he had entrusted the management to James Mester. However, managing the entire East Coast was a demanding task. Thus, Chris Shelby planned to use this opportunity to clean up the internal rubbish in the East Coast. Chris Shelby was well aware that the sturdiest of castles fall from within. No matter how much he cleared the external threats, there would always be trouble if the garbage within was not dealt with.
Chris Shelby sneered, "What if I don't pay?"
"What if you don't pay?" Dingley Byng's eyes filled with killing intent as he said coldly. "Boy, if you don't pay, you'll regret it."
After speaking, Dingley Byng took out his phone and made a call. "I have someone who has offended me. Send a few people here immediately."
After the call, he looked at Chris Shelby and said, "It won't just be about one million. I'll leave you destitute."
Chris Shelby's face darkened completely. It was clear that this wasn't Dingley Byng's first time extorting someone. Demand one million dollars for just a touch, and then threaten to leave them penniless? If the rubbish like this wasn't dealt with, the people in the East Coast would suffer.
Not long after, three vans arrived, from which more than a dozen people got out. They were holding sticks, and it was clear they were thugs from the underworld. When they saw Dingley Byng, they showed respect.
"Master Byng!"
