Devil's Frown gritted his teeth and pulled out a formation compass from his robe. "This formation compass, I acquired it by chance over a decade ago. I never thought it would finally come in handy today!"
Chris Shelby examined the compass closely. It had an ancient design, with a compass needle on its surface. Devil's Frown, as the former leader of the Ghost Sect, even possessed such a rare item. It seemed no one should be underestimated.
Chris Shelby asked, "This tomb's formation is more complex than we imagined. Can you rely on this formation compass to find the accurate route out?"
Devil's Frown explained, "This formation compass was passed down from ancient formation masters. Since they were rare even in ancient times, there aren't many of these left now. This compass is made from special materials and can help us find the correct path in this tomb maze."
He then looked at Chris Shelby and asked, "Chris Shelby, can you promise me one thing?"
Chris Shelby frowned, "What is it? Tell me."
Devil's Frown took a deep breath and said, "Chris Shelby, I know you are the most likely to obtain the Dragon Emblem fragments this time. We don't have any deep-seated enmity. You destroyed my Ghost Sect because I was not as skilled as you. I don't have much ambition for the Dragon Emblem fragments. If I help you find them, I hope you will spare me."
Chris Shelby looked at Devil's Frown, unsure if he was telling the truth. As the former leader of the Ghost Sect, Devil's Frown was known to be cunning. But whether he was sincere or not didn't matter to Chris Shelby; as long as Devil's Frown helped him find the Dragon Emblem fragments, he had nothing to lose. If Devil's Frown tried anything later, Chris Shelby wouldn't mind dealing with him.
Thinking this through, Chris Shelby nodded, "I'll try my best. But I can't fully promise you. If you don't play any tricks on me, I might consider sparing you."
Devil's Frown nodded in agreement.
Soon, they reached an agreement: Devil's Frown would help Chris Shelby find the Dragon Emblem fragments, and Chris Shelby would spare him.
Under Devil's Frown's guidance, Chris Shelby and his group started navigating through the passageways. They encountered several Terracotta Warriors along the way but managed to defeat them all.
Suddenly, Devil's Frown spoke with a serious expression, "We are close to the exit!"
He stared at the compass in his hand; its needle was constantly moving. The closer they got to the exit, the faster the needle spun.
After passing through several stone gates, their view suddenly opened up. After spending considerable time navigating the maze-like passageways, they finally emerged into a vast space.
In front of them stood a massive palace with nine floors, reminding Chris Shelby of the legendary House of Rainstorms.
Tiger exclaimed excitedly, "Boss, we made it!"
Chris Shelby nodded and looked ahead to see many people gathered at the palace entrance. Peterson Abernathy and his group had already exited the maze and arrived here.
