Outside the ICU, Jean stared blankly at the inside, unresponsive to the doctor asking her to undergo a full examination. 

Duke tried for a long time to get her to tend to her wounds, but she refused, so he had to do it himself. 

Exhausted, Jean leaned against Duke, repeatedly praying for Berton’s safety. 

Duke comforted her, “He will be fine. He will be fine…” 

Finally, the doctor emerged, announcing the results of the treatment.

When Jean entered, Berton was still unconscious, tubes inserted all over his body.
