Dailey didn’t respond.
He reached for another cigarette and lit it.
Serena extended her hand, but he turned away.
“You really have no class. No wonder you got dumped.”
Dailey’s expression darkened as he sank into the couch, exhaling a cloud of smoke.
Serena was upset, but when she turned to look at him, sprawled casually with his legs crossed, there was an undeniable air of melancholy about him. Combined with his handsome features and aloof demeanor, he was certainly captivating.
When you like someone, even their faults can seem tolerable.
Serena didn’t snatch the cigarette from him. Despite her feelings for Dailey, she didn’t want to inhale the secondhand smoke.
Standing at the foot of the bed, she watched him and said, “Marry me.”
Dailey merely chuckled.
Serena continued, unfazed, “You don’t want your mother constantly setting you up with new people, do you? Trapped in endless blind dates?”
“I don’t care who you truly love. Marry me, and you can have your freedom. I’ll even cover for you if you want to see her.”
“Besides, the Sinclair family is a perfect match for the Clarkson family. It’s a mutually beneficial alliance, resources shared.”
“It’s a deal you can’t lose.”
Dailey remained silent.
Before Serena went abroad, she often saw Dailey around the neighborhood. He was always distant and indifferent, never one to open up easily.
It made sense. If you showed what you cared about, enemies could use it against you.

This story is useless now. there is no essence. Jane is a whore, at least Bryant never sleep around. There was a misunderstanding between him and his step sister but he never slept with anyone. Bryant should just find a good woman by his side. Jane and Gregory will have a baby. Jane found her biological mother. So what else to be expect in this story?...
Who is the ML ? Hope its Greg.. but I kinda feel pity for Bryant too now.....
Im getting disappointed not with the story but the update. Before its 10 chaps per day then down to 5 then 4 now its only 3....
