She did not know how long Mrs. Lewis had been gone.
She also had no idea how long she had been sitting in the conference room in a daze.
The only thing she knew was that the teacher needed to use the conference room.
Only then did she come back to her senses.
As she walked out of the conference room, her words seemed to echo in her mind.
"I can raise three incredible children, I'm not an ordinary person!"
"You can try, but even if your brother got into an accident, do you think my son will help you? Or would he defend his mother?"
"If you understand and agree to leave, I might even give you a sum of money. But if you're greedy, you'll only lose more than what you've gained!"
"The woman that my son needs is someone who is compatible with him, not a burden!"
"You two don't belong in the same world. How long do you think his initial attraction to you would last?"
Her words were extremely hurtful.
But she couldn't refute her at all.
Rosa's face was worryingly pale.
She and him were definitely not from the same world.
She knew nothing about his business matters.
She had no clue about his life.
How long would she be able to keep him interested?
One year? Or two?
Could it be as his mother said? That only hatred will be waiting for them at the end of the line?
She didn't go back to the classroom. Instead, she sat on the stairs next to the field, watching other students having their P.E. class.
Her mind was spinning.
"Are you okay? You look so pale. Do you need to go to the infirmary?"
A kind-hearted male student was on his way to buy drinks when he saw her sitting alone in a trance.
"Thank you. I'm fine." Rosa got up and walked towards the classroom.
As soon as she returned to the classroom, the bell rang.
When Clare saw her coming over, she looked at her as she ate her snacks.
Rosa lay down on the table and didn't want to move.
"Hey, Rosa, do you know who Miranda's uncle is married to?"
Rosa was stunned. She looked up and asked, "What do you mean?"
"Ah, you didn't know? Last Saturday, it went viral! Her uncle went against the Baker family because of some ordinary girl."
"You don't know who the girl is?" Rosa asked curiously.
How could she not know?
But didn't Grace find out about this?
Clare could not help but say, "How would I know? The girl's face was censored. All I could see was her uncle staring at the girl affectionately. When I wanted to look closer, the post had already been taken down. Looks like the publishers had already deleted the post. I thought you were close to Miranda, so you'd definitely know." Clare said.
Rosa was silent.
Her face was censored.
The viral post got taken down in an instant.
"Is this the Lewis family's doing? Or was it the Baker family's doing?" She wondered.
No wonder no one looked at her strangely when she came to school today.
It seemed that those people did not think that the girl in the photo was her!
Grace could probably tell because of their familiarity with each other.
"Hey, what's wrong? You look so pale. Are you okay?"
Rosa shook her head and continued to lie down. She seemed to be in bad condition all of a sudden.
Seeing this, Clare took out an exquisite packed food from her bag and turned around.
"Look at you, you're probably hungry. Here, this is for you. This fish is from Hokkaido! It's very tasty." She said as she brought it close to her nose. "See, doesn't it smell good?"
The instant the pungent fish smell reached her nose buds...
Rosa frowned and retched.
Clare was shocked and hurriedly threw away the food. She came to her side and patted her on the back. "Rosa, are you okay?"
Rosa was dry-heaving for a while, but nothing came out. Her eyes were red from retching.
"I'm fine..." Her stomach was acting up a little. Then, she waved her hand.
Clare quickly handed her a glass of water and said, "Drink some."
Without hesitation, Rosa picked it up and drank a bit of water.
Instantly, she relaxed a little.
Clare comforted her and chuckled as she said, "Luckily, you didn't have a boyfriend. Otherwise, I would've thought you were pregnant!"
Rosa's body instantly froze.
"Pregnant?"
"Seeing you like this, you've probably caught a cold. But didn't you say you live at Silver Beach? Don't they have heaters there?" Clare was puzzled.
"I'm pregnant?" She thought.
When was her last period?
The more Rosa thought about it, her face turned even paler.
"Hey, Rosa, what's wrong?" Clare asked as she noticed something was not right.
Rosa looked at her and hurriedly said, "Sorry, I forgot. Today, I need to bring Cecil to the hospital. I need to ask for leave."
As soon as she finished speaking, she ran out with her schoolbag.
Forty minutes later...
Rosa went home.
"Madam, class ended so early today?" Aunt Rong was surprised to see her return.
Clenching her schoolbag tightly, Rosa was a little nervous. She looked around and said, "We... We only have half of the class today, so I came back early."
"Oh, then what do you want for lunch, madam? I just bought a fresh sea bass this morning. I'll cook it for you and Cecil!"
"I don't want fish!" Rosa blurted out without thinking.
Aunt Abbie was stunned. Er...
"I don't like fish. Uh... you can cook it for Cecil. Cook some noodles for me at noon. I'll be doing my homework, so I won't go downstairs."
"Oh, okay!"
Rosa did not go to Cecil's room and directly headed upstairs.
She locked the door behind her.
Then, she quickly opened her school bag and took out a plastic bag.
There were three kinds of pregnancy test kits, a cheap one, a middle-classed one, and the most expensive one.
She frowned as her heart started trembling.
