Rosa couldn't help getting nervous.
Why did Marlene have to keep the fact that she was pregnant with triplets?
What was that cruel truth Marlene mentioned?
Marlene sighed, "Rosa, your family has done me a favor, so I will protect you no matter what. You have to listen to what I have to say."
Rosa bit her lips and clenched her fists. It was clear that she was nervous.
"The fetuses were too small, so I didn't notice there were three. When your mother-in-law came last month, I saw that it was triplets. The third one is non-identical to the other two, and it is not developing well."
Rosa frowned and asked, "What do you mean by it is not developing well?"
"I can't tell that the fetus will be able to survive or be absorbed by the other two!"
Rosa bit her lips and covered her chest with her trembling hands.
Might not survive?
"Rosa, listen to me. I will try every means to help you keep three of them. But can you tell your family members about the third one?"
Rosa frowned and asked, "Marlene, what do you mean?"
Marlene looked at her and shook her head.
Rosa was so innocent, so how could she beat that cunning old fox?
"Marlene..."
"Before that check-up, your mother-in-law came to me."
"Why did she come to you?"
"She probably heard your doctor is here. I am the director, so she came straight to me. She told me she wanted me to care for you and ensure that the babies grow big and healthy."
Rosa frowned as she didn't feel there was something wrong.
As the babies' grandmother, it was reasonable for her to want the babies to develop well.
"Rosa, I know what you are thinking. But you can't use your way of thought to guess her. Do you know what they're trying to do?"
Rosa shook her head and did not know.
"She only wants the babies and will never admit you're a part of the family. Once the babies are born, she will kick you out of the house."
Rosa widened her eyes in shock. "What?"
"After your examination, she called me and reminded me to take good care of the babies and would pay me for doing a good job. I told her I couldn't give you too many supplements as an overdose would be a burden for you. But she told me she did not care if you died while giving birth as they would take the children after that. Or if you didn't die, they would kick you out of City C!"
Rosa's eyes turned red.
She bit her lips, and her hands were trembling.
She thought that things would change because of her pregnancy.
After all, Henry had said that his mother would accept her as long as she gave birth.
But she didn't expect that was their plan!
"Rosa, they can only accept Miss Baker as their daughter-in-law. Do you know why the Baker family has not done anything after you got engaged to him?"
Rosa looked at Marlene with sad eyes.
"You're too naive. If his mother hadn't comforted them and promised them something, would the Baker family endure it?"
Rosa instantly understood that the Baker family did not make any trouble.
It must be because Mrs. Lewis had promised Paige.
Mrs. Lewis must have said that they would make her leave after the babies were born.
And then, Paige would marry him and enter the Lewis family.
"Rosa, I didn't want to say it because I was afraid that it would affect your mood. But it was bound to happen, so it's better to be prepared."
Tears fell from her eyes as Rosa sneered, "Prepare? What am I going to do?"
"Perhaps you can tell Henry to deal with them?"
"No!" Rosa refused without thinking.
Mrs. Lewis once said that as long as she didn't kill Rosa, Henry would never fall out with her.
......
After all, Henry was her son!
"Rosa, you won't run away with the babies, will you?" Marlene frowned. "Don't do something stupid. You..."
"I won't!" Rosa interrupted Marlene and smiled. "Marlene, I won't run. Cecil is finally getting better, and it will be fatal for him if I leave City C, so I won't leave."
"What are you going to do then?"
"Marlene, please help me hide that there are three. If there is such a day, I want to leave with one of the babies."
"Rosa, don't do this!"
"Marlene, I understand what you mean. I can't guarantee that he will never change his mind. They are right. I don't know how long this novelty will last, but I have feelings for the babies, and I will collapse if they take the babies away. And it will be the same for Cecil. But if that day comes, I will leave with one of them."
It was Rosa's only wish now.
Marlene's eyes turned red. "Rosa, trust me. I will help you."
Rosa nodded. She looked down at her belly and said, "Baby 3, you must hold on and survive!"
Marlene tilted her head and wiped away her tears.
She pitied Rosa and hoped Rosa was making the right decision.
On the other side.
"Cecil, are you sure you want to sign? Your situation is much better now!" Cecil's chief physician looked at Cecil with a frown.
Cecil smiled and wrote down his information without hesitation.
"Thank you. I know what I'm doing. It's a preparation for the day I die. I want to leave something for the world."
The doctor's eyes turned red all of a sudden. He said, "Thanks a lot. Don't worry. I will do my best to cure you and let you live a few more years!"
"I will try to hold on a few years more too. I still want to play with my nephew or niece," Cecil smiled with happiness.
"You will be a good uncle!"
"Thank you!" After saying that, Cecil got up and nodded to the attending doctor.
What he just signed was a form for organ donation.
