Henry left angrily.
Drained of her strength, Rosa felt weak in her legs, and her body shook a little.
She found a stool and sat down. She placed a hand over her chest, feeling a thug of pain.
After resting for a few minutes, she took out her phone and made a call.
"Hey, Andy..."
"Rosa, are you okay? What did he do to you? I'll be there right away!"
Andy said as he put on his clothes.
He was anxious.
He was afraid that Rosa would be taken away by Henry again.
Rosa's voice was weak. "You don't have to come over. He left..."
"He left?" Andy paused. He frowned and thought for a moment. "You said you reached home. Did he follow you? Did he see Hanna?"
Andy was even more anxious when he asked, and his heart was at his throat.
If Henry knew that he had a daughter, he would not let Rosa go.
"No. I just reached my apartment. We met in your neighborhood. He didn't follow me. Don't worry. I won't let him see Hanna. It's just that..."
Rosa frowned. She didn't know how to say it was more tactful.
"Just what?" Andy didn't dare to breathe loudly and was a little nervous.
"Isn't it bad for you to say that? Weren't you making it clear you want to go up against him? You know about his power and status in City C..."
Andy relaxed when Rosa didn't bring up something he was worried about. He chuckled and said, "Rosa, are you worried about me? Don't worry. I'm not the same person as I was five years ago. I am capable of resisting him now. Don't be afraid. I will help you get rid of him. I can cooperate with you if you need me to, and we can even get married."
Rosa was speechless.
"Rosa..."
Andy called out to her nervously. This time, he repeated it.
"I reached home. Let's not talk about it. Hanna is waiting for me!"
Andy knew that she was deliberately changing the subject.
Although he was disappointed, he would not force her.
"Okay. Can I come to see her tomorrow morning?"
Rosa held her phone and thought for a few seconds. Finally, she nodded and said, "Okay!"
Andy smiled and said, "Alright. Hurry up and go to Hanna's side. I'll be there tomorrow morning."
Rosa agreed and turned off her phone.
Then, she walked into her apartment area.
Hanna was on the sofa when she got home, and Aunt Poppy was reading her a storybook.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, Hanna sat up from the sofa and poked her little head out. "Mom..."
Rosa smiled gently. She put down the bag, came to her, and picked Hanna up. "Have you eaten? Were you a good girl today?"
"Mom, I listened to Grandma Poppy and ate too. I'm full. Mommy, why are you so late? Didn't you say that you would come back to have dinner with us?" Hanna pouted, sounding a little dissatisfied.
Rosa smiled and kissed Hanna's forehead. "I went to pick up Andy. He will come to see you tomorrow."
Hanna was stunned for a moment before exclaiming, "Is Uncle Andy here too?"
Rosa nodded with a smile.
"Yay! Uncle Andy is coming to see me!" Hanna seemed particularly excited.
Aunt Poppy said in a hurry, "Miss, you haven't eaten yet. I will heat the dishes for you."
"Okay!" Rosa nodded.
Rosa had her dinner at the dining table while Hanna held her chin and looked at her in excitement.
Rosa found it funny. "Why are you staring at me?"
"Mom, why did Uncle Andy come back? Is he going to propose to you again?" Hanna asked curiously.
"Don't talk nonsense." Rosa frowned.
Hanna stuck out her tongue and did not dare to say anything else. However, she remembered something. "Mom, it's the weekend the day after tomorrow. Can you take me out? I haven't gone anywhere in City C. Grandma Poppy said that City C is interesting."
Was it going to be the weekend already?
Rosa was a little stunned at how fast time flew.
"Okay, I will take you out this weekend."
"Great!" Hanna clapped her hands excitedly.
Seeing her daughter so happy, Rosa was stunned for a moment. She wondered what the other two did on their weekends.
"Pretty Aunt, we want to see you."
As soon as she thought of the words of the two children, her heart ached.
Suddenly, she had no appetite.
......
The next day.
Grace had yet to arrive when Rosa arrived to work in the morning.
"Okay."
The door was closed.
Rosa looked at Miranda confusedly and asked, "Why are you here?"
"I work here. My father gave me the position of marketing manager, but I knew that I had no capability. The deputy manager is one of Grace's men, and everyone listens to her and not me. And we earn the same pay! So, I don't come here often." Rosa curled her lips.
"Don't be angry. Miranda, I have to say. You're not young anymore. You graduated from college a long time ago. You should work hard instead of being idle all day!"
Miranda frowned. "But I can't do anything..."
"You can learn. I didn't know anything when I went to England. Now I have three companies. I worked hard to get these. Miranda, you should grow up. You can't rely on your parents all the time!"
"I know. I understand what you're saying, but I'm stupid..."
"Cecil stopped schooling after middle school, but he had never given up on himself. He bought books to read and practiced on his own. He would ask me if he had something he didn't know. And he managed to publish a book without my help. Didn't you fall in love with him because he was a hard worker?"
Miranda looked up at her, and her eyes turned red in an instant. She sniffed and said, "Yeah. Cecil was very strong. He never gave up. But Grace..."
"Enough!" Rosa interrupted Miranda.
Miranda looked at Rosa in shock. She did not understand why Rosa had interrupted her.
"You knew it was Grace's fault, but how could you let her men get to you? Aren't you afraid that Grace would have your father wrapped around her finger and take Quaductions for herself?"
Miranda looked at Rosa. She didn't say anything and didn't know what to say.
"You're not young anymore. You can tell right from wrong. Why do you refuse to work hard? If I were you, I would prove by myself that I could do my job well as a marketing manager. You should go out and survey the market. What have you been doing other than visiting bars and karaoke bars? Who are you going to rely on when you lose both your parents?"
Miranda bit her lip and looked at Rosa with tears in her eyes. She had never thought that Rosa would say that to her.
Rosa's words hurt, but it was the truth.
"Are you going to say you can fall back to the Lewis Group and your uncle? He is abroad all year round, and your English is not good. Do you think you can adapt abroad? Well, you have another uncle, but do you think he will support you forever? Ha! I know better than anyone else about Henry. He will knock you down and look down on you."
She was sure Henry would leave Miranda alone and let society train her.
"I hate Grace. I don't want to work for her..." Miranda complained with tears in her eyes.
"If you hate her, listen to me and work hard. Let's drive her out of Quaductions together. Quaductions belong to you and Geoffrey, not Grace."
"It's mine..."
"Yes, it's yours, but you have to have enough ability to keep it, so learn to do your job well. Think about what I said!"
Miranda got up and walked to the door in a daze.
Rosa sighed helplessly.
"Miranda, if you don't grow up, you won't be able to take over Quaductions."
To prevent future trouble, Rosa would pay any price to destroy it!
