Chapter 127
“I didn’t abandon you. Things happened too suddenly, and I couldn’t let Trevor see how affected I was. The entire time, I had been
་་
“That’s all in the past now.” Angela’s lips curved slightly in a faint smile. “You don’t need to explain. Just leave.”
With that, she turned and walked away.
Dexter bolted forward, trying to grab her arm, but Finn rushed over and pushed him away.
“Don’t touch her. Do you even deserve to?” Finn’s usual gentle demeanor was gone, replaced with a cold and fierce gaze.
After Dexter barely steadied himself, he looked at Angela’s calm and indifferent expression. In that instant, he found himself unexpectedly flustered.
His heart raced anxiously, making him feel like clutching it with his hand to steady it.
“Finn, this is between my wife and me. It’s none of your business!” After a moment of silence, Dexter spoke coldly, his words firm and forceful.
“We’re already divorced,” Angela said calmly. “Our agreement still stands, but I’m done playing along with your act. Once we return, I will tell Grandpa and Grandma myself.”
While she stood there quietly without making a fuss or showing any other reactions, she looked as if she had seen through him.
“Ms. Graham, you misunderstood Dexter. After what happened to you, he apprehended Trevor and sent him back to the country.”
Right then, Elena unexpectedly appeared, her anxious expression giving the impression that she genuinely sympathized with the two of them.
Angela’s heart trembled inexplicably.
Trevor was apprehended? Then Fiona must have already found out about the betrayal.
The Bamford family had likely been thrown into a storm of chaos, but what did any of that have to do with her now?
“But I was hurt because of him.” Angela smirked slightly. “If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have been inexplicably abducted, imprisoned, humiliated by you all, and forced to jump off a building, ending up like this. How can you expect me not to resent him?”
Elena opened her mouth but didn’t know what to say.
“Go back with me.” Abruptly stepping forward, Dexter scooped her up in his arms. “No matter what, I can’t leave you here!”

Chapter 127
Angela wasn’t fast enough to react when he picked her up, but his hold wasn’t rough, so it
didn’t hurt.
“She’s injured and needs to rest.” Finn hurriedly tried to stop him, but Dexter’s men blocked his way.
“Let me go!” Angela’s face was pale, her voice weak, but her anger was real. She wanted nothing more than to slap him across the face.
“Never!” Dexter announced with a cold smile.
She was taken to the Bamford family’s hospital in the area.
Dexter arranged for her to stay in the best hospital room. He then made sure she underwent a full–body examination and was attended to by five to six top international doctors solely for her care.
Angela gazed at the vast tulip garden outside the window. For a moment, she was dazed, almost thinking she was dreaming.
