Chapter 13
Inside the bag were… adult toys!
“My goodness…” Angela’s face flushed red. She looked down, unable to say

Fiona laughed mockingly and said, “What’s the matter? Are you still some innocent little girl? You’ve been married for so long, yet you can’t even produce a child. What value do you have left in the Bamford family?”
Angela froze instantly. Fiona’s words hit her like a bolt of lightning. She didn’t know how she had put up with this in the past.
From the beginning until now, she had been nothing but a birthing machine in Fiona’s
eyes.
“I can’t get pregnant because your son refuses to cooperate, and I’m not capable of asexual reproduction either,” she retorted coldly, placing the bag of items back on the
coffee table.
This was the first time she had spoken up so firmly.
Fiona’s gaze darkened, surprised by her response. Then, she let out a cold laugh.
“Oh, I see. Someone has grown a spine.” Fiona stood slowly, her tone sharp with authority. “I’m warning you, if there’s still no news about you getting pregnant in three months, I’ll arrange for you and Dexter to divorce.”
Angela smirked–that was exactly what she wanted.
In the end, though, she took the bag of adult toys and went back to her room. These thin, could be useful, at least as a way to buy herself some peace. Since Fiona had arranged it, even Dexter wouldn’t be able to object.
He seemed to be in the shower at the moment. A sly smile formed on Angela’s lips as an idea came to her. She deliberately placed the items Fiona had given her on the bedside table and waited for Dexter to come out.
As soon as he saw them, he grimaced in disgust. “What kind of nonsense are you pulling?”
in one “Your mom wants us to have a child as soon as possible.” Angela stood up, picking up of the suggestively shaped items with a serious expression. “Go ahead and choose one.”
As expected, Dexter’s face darkened, and he angrily swept the items onto the floor. He and Fiona had always been at odds, especially when it came to having children. He didn’t want to confront her directly, so over the years, he had left Angela to handle the
matter.
But now, she was tired of it. She wanted him to deal with it himself and experience the

same awkwardness and pressure she had faced countless times.
“Dexter, this is from your mom. Why are you taking it out on me?” She hid her satisfaction while maintaining a calm demeanor.
“Don’t push your luck,” Dexter warned, his gaze cold and piercing enough to cut through
her.
“Mom said she plans to stay here for some time. As long as we’re here, we won’t be able to avoid her pressuring,” Angela lied deliberately.
“Get out!” Dexter’s anger surged, and his entire presence radiated menace.
Having achieved her goal, Angela quickly packed up some essentials and escaped back to the place she rented. Knowing Dexter, he wouldn’t bother her for at least a week, which gave her the perfect window to complete more paintings and post a few videos.
Three days later, her new piece, which she named Lamps and Shadows, was completed. She had filmed the entire painting process, so she edited it slightly and uploaded it to the art platform.
Within 24 hours, it had received over 300 thousand likes, and someone even expressed interest in buying it for their collection.
But Angela wasn’t in a rush to sell.
This painting had a special place in her heart, and she intended to gift it to the first person who had bought her artwork. If not for that person, her journey wouldn’t have been as smooth.
Soon, the person she had been waiting for, WhiteBlizzard, messaged her.
They wrote, “Miss, are you selling this painting? I like it and would like to buy it.”
“No, I’m not selling it.” Angela texted back with a dancing emoji. Then, she continued, “I plan to give it to you as thanks for your support.”
Her art sales had been growing steadily, providing her with a stable income. Though she was still far from her goal of buying back Marie’s house, at least she no longer had to depend on Dexter financially.
It felt wonderful.
In the chat, the words “typing…” kept appearing and disappearing.
Finally, the other person replied, “Really?”
Angela chuckled. And so, they agreed to meet at a café in the city center.
Chapter 13
Angela arrived ten minutes early. As she entered, she saw someone already seated at their designated spot.
It was a man in a black jacket, and he had short, neat hair. From behind, he looked quite young… and oddly familiar.
Holding
Panting, Angela approached slowly and asked, “Are you WhiteBlizzard?”
The man looked up, his deep eyes clear and friendly. He had the kind of face that could easily charm women.
As their eyes met, Angela froze. The more she looked at him, the more familiar he seemed.
“You… You are…” Angela stuttered.
A chubby face flashed in her mind, but she couldn’t believe this person was the same one she was thinking of.
“What? Don’t you recognize me?” The man smiled, and dimples appeared on both his cheeks.
Angela’s heart raced as she finally called his name. “Finn Snowden!”
“I thought you wouldn’t recognize me.” Finn stood up, his tall frame casting a shadow over her. “When I watched your videos, I noticed the small petal–shaped birthmark on your left wrist and decided to take a chance. I didn’t expect it to really be you.”
“Have you been doing well, Angela?” Finn asked. He placed a hand on Angela’s shoulder, indicating for her to take a seat.
