Chapter 142
A bold thought flashed through Bill’s mind. It would be perfect If he could secure this contract. It would help dispel the rumors about his rift with Angela and bring enormous benefits to the company.
“Hello, Mr. Jameson. Good afternoon. Oh, you want me to visit tomorrow for an on–site evaluation, right? Let me think about it.”
Angela answered the phone, but before she could say anything more, Bill snatched the phone from her and hung up..
“What are you doing?“.Angela snapped. “Give it back! I’ve been trying to get an appointment with Mr. Jameson for ages. I’m really interested in working with him!”
Seeing her flustered expression, Bill was convinced she wasn’t faking it. The idea he had grew stronger.
“Look,” he said. “Since you’re looking for a partner, why not just choose Graham Group? Why bother with outsiders? What’s wrong with you?”
“No,” Angela replied immediately, without hesitation. Mr. Jameson is the best fit. I can’t choose you. People would think I’m using my position for personal gain, and that would cause a massive scandal.”
“You’re so dumb,” Bill muttered. “The situation between us has become a joke. If we can use this opportunity to improve our relationship, it’ll benefit both of us!”
He recalled what had happened the night before.
Zack rarely returned home, but he only complained about the rumors circulating in his school.
He mentioned that Bill had been harsh to Angela but kind toward his son from his second
marriage.
Now, even Zack had become the target of everyone’s ridicule.
At that moment, Bill hadn’t fully understood the severity of the situation. Today, however, he realized just how bad things had gotten.
He told himself that he had to resolve the immediate issue first, no matter what.
“I’ll try to discuss it with Mr. Snowden.” Her tone was tinged with a hint of hesitation.
She called Bill that evening, telling him that Callum had proposed a condition for her to intern at Graham Group for a month as a designer before they could decide whether to move forward with the partnership.
When Bill hesitated, Angela mentioned that she had received another call and urged him to make a quick decision or the opportunity would slip away.

The next morning, Angela received a call before the sun had even risen.
Bill had agreed. He told her to contact Callum immediately and start working at Graham Group.
“Why the hurry?” Angela replied nonchalantly. “I’ll discuss it some more.‘
She stretched lazily, sitting up in bed, feeling great.
When she went downstairs for breakfast, she was surprised to see Fiona there as well.
“What time did you come back last night? I didn’t see you,” Angela said.
Fiona glanced at her indifferently. “I’ve been here for the past few days. It’s you who’s been busy.”
Dexter also emerged from the guest room. “Mom hasn’t been working lately. She’s been staying at home.”
