Chapter 24
Angela gritted her teeth and stepped aside.
Dexter propped himself using the bed. He stood up slowly and walked over to the wooden. cabinet. Then, he opened it and pulled out her livestream setup and phone.
Angela’s expression turned icy. “Dexter, don’t you dare go so far as to take away my livelihood!”
“Take away your livelihood? Ha! Is that something that should even come out of your mouth?” he snarled as though he wanted to tear her apart.
“You’re Mrs. Bamford! Yet, you go online to make money by exposing yourself! Don’t you feel ashamed? I, for one, am utterly mortified!”
“What’s there to be embarrassed about? I didn’t even show my face! I’m making money with my own two hands. It’s not like I stole or obtained it illegally. Why can’t I make money this way?” Angela retorted frigidly, her rebellious side kicking in.
“Does the Bamford family not provide for you well enough? Do you really need to stoop to something as cheap as flaunting yourself online?” Dexter threw her equipment to the ground forcefully.
With a loud crash, Angela’s equipment shattered. Her phone’s screen splintered into cracks that resembled a spider’s web.
Angela rushed over and picked up the phone. She had bought it less than a month her earnings from her livestreams.

“Are you crazy? You’d better pay for that!” she snapped, her face flushed with anger.
Dexter was angrier still. “This is my last warning. Cease your flashy stunts. Stay home, and maybe I’ll-”
“Shut up!” Angela screamed.
Tears welled up in her eyes and spilled over as she clenched her broken phone.
Why? Why did Dexter get to control everything? Why did she have to obey him? Why couldn’t she pursue what she loved?
“You’re a sick bastard, Dexter!” Angela lowered her head, clutching her phone as
streamed down her face.

She had been living at Bamford Estate for years, but she had barely had any freedom over her finances. This phone was the first thing she had bought for herself with the money she
had earned through her own hard work.
Dexter was stunned by her reaction.
