Chapter 25
Donna didn’t dare make the decision herself, so she went to ask Dexter.
At that moment, Dexter was still furious. He snapped dismissively, “She can go wherever she wants!”
In about ten minutes, Angela moved into Donna’s room. Upon seeing Angela’s sour expression, Talia didn’t dare say much. She quickly packed her belongings and moved next door to share a room with Lily Peters.
Donna prepared a cup of chamomile tea and brought it to Angela. Her kind voice was comforting as she asked, “Mrs. Bamford, did you quarrel with Mr. Barnford again?”
Angela forced a smile. “Donna, how could I have been so blind?”
She regretted everything. Her heart was filled with remorse.
Donna couldn’t help but smile. “Couples always quarrel, but in the end, they’ll always make up. Mr. Bamford hasn’t been well these days, so just bear with him a bit.”
“Why should I? He brought it upon himself. I’d like to rest for a while, Donna,” she added before wrapping herself in the blanket.
Word of this quickly spread throughout Bamford Estate.
“I heard Mrs. Bamford moved into Donna’s room. Unbelievable!”
“What did she do to offend Mr. Bamford this time? With how things are going, she’s bound to be kicked out of Bamford Estate soon.
“She’s in such a pitiful state. I wouldn’t be surprised if he divorces her next.”
The maids gossiped among themselves.
Erica had coincidentally come to Bamford Estate to deliver some work documents, She heard the rumors upon arriving there. At first, she thought she had misheard, but when she went to the maids‘ quarters, she was thrilled to find Angela sleeping in Donna’s room.
Surprised, she headed to the study to gauge Dexter’s attitude.
“Mr. Bamford, here are the documents and contracts that require your signature,” she said respectfully, placing a stack of papers on Dexter’s desk.
Dexter was staring blankly at stock data on his computer screen. He seemed lost in thought.
Erica couldn’t help but feel something was off.
“Mr. Bamford, do you want me to handle things with Mrs. Bamford?” she asked cautiously.

Chapter 25
Dexter snapped out of his thoughts and gave her a doubtful look.
Erica looked down and assured him. “I apologize for my previous behavior. It won’t happen again.”
After working with Dexter for so long, she’d learned to interpret his expressions instantly. His current clearly indicated that he didn’t quite trust her.
Upon recalling the events of the past few days, Erica guessed that his attitude toward Angela had changed. It seemed she would need to treat Angela with a bit more respect, or at least put on a good front.
To her surprise, Dexter simply replied, “Don’t bother showing her any respect.”
Erica was somewhat surprised to hear this, but she didn’t mind. What she wanted was the power to humiliate Angela completely.
“What are you doing, Ms. Carrey?” Donna called out to warn Angela, but Erica shoved her aside and marched straight into the room.
Angela was still asleep. With a sneer, Erica grabbed a basin of water from the bathroom and splashed it onto the bed.
“It’s raining!” Angela jolted awake, now partially alert.
