Love and Devotion No Longer His to Claim (Angela and Dexter) novel Chapter 287

Angela continued after a brief pause, "Why don't I transfer Logan to the operations and logistics department to fix toilets and pipes? From now on, he'll handle all the dirty and exhausting work. Someone like him doesn't deserve to be in a public-facing role."

Zack was utterly stunned, his face filled with shock. He swallowed hard.

Once again, he felt fortunate that he had made the right choice—thankfully, he had not switched sides.

"W-well… He definitely won't agree to that," Zack stammered. "That guy values his pride more than anything."

"After what happened, his reputation is already in the gutter. He won't be able to find another job in Eldmere City for at least three months. Since he just bought a house and paid Rosanne a huge settlement, he's strapped for cash. He has no choice but to endure it for now."

Angela popped another grape into her mouth.

Fiona had bought these premium seedless grapes. Since they were particularly sweet, eating too many was a bit heavy on the palate.

She suddenly felt a little dizzy as a wave of lightheadedness washed over her.

"What's wrong, Angie?" Zack waved a hand in front of her eyes. "Are you feeling unwell? By the way, this bracelet of yours is gorgeous—it must be worth a lot, right?"

Angela ignored him and stood up to leave, but a stronger wave of dizziness washed over her, causing her to lose her balance and collapse back onto the couch.

Damn it. She had been pushing herself too hard these past two days with too many late nights and too much work. Her body was finally giving out from exhaustion.

"You really need to take care of yourself and rest. Just look at how worn out you are these past few days. You look pale," Zack muttered.

Giving a nod, Angela went to her bedroom.

The next morning, Logan swaggered into his office. He was unusually elated and extremely smug.

Even if he messed up, so what? He remained the head of the HR department in Graham Group and was untouchable.
