When Angela got home, she went straight to the bathroom for a shower. But every time she closed her eyes, she saw Dexter’s reddened eyes.
He was truly furious today.
Angela felt a wave of irritation, but what worried her more was the thought of Dexter causing trouble for Finn.
After all, Dexter never cared about reason. He only acted based on his mood.
“Mrs. Bamford, Madam Fiona is here.” Donna’s nervous voice came from outside the bathroom.
Angela frowned. She hurriedly finished cleaning up, slipped into some loungewear, and rushed downstairs.
Fiona was already there, her elegant face as cold as ice. Before Angela could say a word, Fiona slapped her hard across the face.
The sound rang out loud and clear. Angela’s head snapped to the side, and a sharp, stinging pain spread across her cheek.
“Angela, have I been too lenient with you? How dare you flirt with another man in broad daylight and humiliate Dexter in front of everyone?” Fiona’s voice was frosty.
Angela clenched her teeth as fury bubbled within her.
All the respect she had once held for Fiona felt laughable now. Without a second thought, she returned the slap. The sound was equally resounding.
Caught off guard, Fiona stumbled, nearly falling to the ground. When she regained her balance, she found herself staring into Angela’s icy gaze.
“First of all, you’ve never been lenient to me. In this family, I rank below even the dogs. Second, I wasn’t flirting with anyone. Finn was invited by Grandpa, and we were merely accompanying him in a game.
“Third, the one constantly flirting is your son. If you want to yell, go yell at him. Come at me again, and it won’t end with just a slap!”
Fiona’s shock quickly turned to rage. She ground her teeth and barked, “What are you going to do?”
But then, as if recalling something, she shifted her tone abruptly. “Angela, I’ll give you one last chance. Come with me to Bamford Manor right now.”
Despite her anger, Angela hesitated. Why would she need to go to Bamford Manor?
