"Uncle Felix, listen…" Dexter quietly pulled Felix aside. "I've already handed this company over to Angela. She's experienced in managing a company. So from now on, she makes all the decisions here. My mom and I have no say in anything."
Felix's face turned livid with anger. "Why did you give it to her? What right does she have to take your things?"
Dexter let out a bitter smile and said helplessly, "My wife is a tough woman. What can I do?"
"You… You coward! How can you let your wife boss you around? Now, I have to suffer such humiliation because of you!" Felix exclaimed in exasperation.
He glared at Dexter in frustration and barked, "Have you forgotten how well I treated you when you were younger? Didn't I even save you from those criminals too?"
Felix's reaction came as no surprise. Every time he wanted something, he would bring up the past. Dexter was tired of it, but he was equally helpless whenever it happened.
"I can personally send you one or two items if you have your eye on something, Uncle Felix. It's not a big deal. Let's not dwell on this. Have your men return the goods. Otherwise, I won't be able to keep order here.
"If you take from us today, and someone else takes from us tomorrow, how will we keep the company running?" Angela said with a smile.
Felix was furious. He paced back and forth in the lobby a few times before finally finding his voice.
"You… You win this time!" he bellowed.
With that, he turned and stormed away.
"If you think I handled this poorly, go ahead and criticize me. But I won't change my mind," Angela said, shrugging as she sat down on the couch and leisurely sipped her tea.
Then, she remarked, "When dealing with scoundrels like him, being soft-hearted will just hold you back."
Dexter and Fiona exchanged glances and saw the surprise in each other's eyes.
