Angela slowly took out the meal she had brought, following the meal plan provided by Dexter’s nutritionist. It consisted of a quinoa salad with roasted vegetables, grilled chicken breast with a light vinaigrette, steamed asparagus, and fresh tomato soup.
“Spoon and fork,” Dexter said, extending his hand as if it were expected.
Angela glanced at him, realizing he was seriously about to eat her food. She couldn’t hold back anymore. “The food is cold. How about you heat it up before eating?”
Dexter paused, staring at her. “Don’t you have a brain? Why didn’t you heat it up at the cafeteria before bringing it over?”
His mood seemed to have soured, and his voice was sharper than usual.
In the past, Angela would have immediately apologized and tried to smooth things over. But today, she slammed her spoon down onto the table, making a loud sound.
“Do I not have a brain? What about you?” she snapped, her frustration boiling over. “If you’ve got someone else bringing you food, why do you need me to do it? I’m not your maid!”
After all, it was just 20 thousand dollars. She could easily earn that back with a few extra shifts. Why should she put up with this nonsense?
She started packing up her lunchbox.
Wasting food was something she couldn’t stand.
Before she could finish, Dexter grabbed her hand, snatched the lunchbox from her, and pulled her toward the door. “Let’s go heat it up in the cafeteria. Is that good enough for you?”
Angela stood frozen in shock, thinking Dexter had to be out of his mind.
“Dexter,” Elena’s voice interrupted as she walked over to them, standing in front of the two. “There’s no need to make it so complicated. My meal is enough for both of us. If Ms. Graham doesn’t mind, she can join me.”
Angela’s eyes brightened at the offer.
“No need,” Dexter responded coldly without even looking at Elena. “I didn’t ask you to come, and you don’t need to waste your time here again.”
With that, he dragged Angela out of the room, leaving Elena standing there alone.
The cafeteria was crowded with people waiting in line to heat their food. The smell of freshly prepared dishes wafted in the air, making Angela’s stomach growl louder.

She glanced around, soon drawn to the delicious offerings at Bamford Co.’s cafeter. he’d delivered food to Dexter before, but he’d always used work as an excuse to avoid meeting
her.
She’d just wanted to sit down and have a meal here as Mrs. Bamford. Unfortunately, that had never happened.
Dexter followed her gaze and saw two stylishly dressed female employees. In contrast to Angela’s dull work attire, the two women wore eye–catching outfits.
Suddenly, Dexter realized he had rarely bought clothes for Angela.
“Wow, who’s that beautiful woman next to Mr. Bamford? She looks stunning.”
“Could she be Mrs. Bamford? They make such a perfect couple.”
“Oh my,
