Angela was stunned.
“Congratulations.” Dexter walked over from the side and handed her the trophy.

wasn’t icy and distant. There was even a faint glimmer of admiration in
“Thank you.” Angela’s tone was distant yet courteous.
The awards ceremony was over.
“Angela, you should treat us to dinner! I vote for a seafood platter! I’m going to eat lobster!
Alan carried his black messenger bag across his back and darted around Angela like an
excited child.
Clara shot him a disdainful look. “Can you calm down? This isn’t Division 1 of the Design Department. Don’t embarrass Angela!”
Angela simply laughed it off. “It’s fine. I’m in a good mood today. Seafood platter’s on me!”
The crowd cheered, and the air buzzed with joy
“You bumpkins, you’re acting like you’ve never had a seafood platter before.” Nora sneered suddenly.
She had been trailing behind them. Everyone was so happy that they didn’t notice her.
“Wow, what’s your deal? Why do you always have to rain on other people’s parades? How do you even make friends? What’s in it for them?” Alan placed one of his hands on his hip, while the other pointed at the group of people behind Nora.
The group of people had followed Nora from Division 1 to Division 2.
It seemed as if everyone was starting to regret their decisions now. They cast a resentful glance at Alan before dragging their weary bodies toward the bus.
“Ms. Rutherford, mind your words.” Clara let out a sigh. Her tone was far less direct than
Alan’s.
Nora glanced at her coldly. “Clara, do you think you could’ve climbed from the position of a lowly employee to your current position if it weren’t for me? You want to kick me to the curb now that you have a new backer. Don’t you forget, you…”
“Shut up!” Clara’s expression shifted instantly

Those memories were thorns in her heart, pricking her with guilt every time they

Angela sensed the tension and calmed everyone down before leading everyone onto the bus without further ado.
Soon, they arrived at the private club Angela had booked in advance. The seafood platter was already served when they arrived, accompanied by an array of exquisite snacks and drinks. The aroma filled the room, making everyone’s mouth water.
“Cheers!” Everyone raised their glasses and clinked in unison. The atmosphere was so lively that it didn’t need warming up. Their spirits were already soaring with the first round of drinks.
Alan approached Angela excitedly and intended to give a toast. “Angela, you’re truly incredible. We used to think you were just all show and no substance, but it turns out that you’ve got real talent. It seems we were the narrow–minded ones.”
