Love at the Wrong Table (Emmanuel Lowe and Mackenzie) novel Chapter 1396

Chapter 1396 Unveiling Hearts

Roselynn seemed to have caught on a bit!

Without waiting for her to ask, Julian clearly stated the answer. “Once I inherit the Summerton family, I will take over this business, but I don’t want war, let alone become a sinner aiding war traffickers.”

“No wonder your Summerton family owns factories like Hadley factory… and it’s no surprise that Hadley factory has declined…” Roselynn seemed to have figured out all the ins and outs.

It turns out that the young people of the Summerton family are unwilling to inherit this family fortune of several tens of billions because they do not want to become executioners of war, Roselynn realized, her mind racing as she processed this revelation.

After discussing this topic, the two fell into silence for a moment.

Roselynn could not help but carefully look at Julian for the first time.

He appeared a bit unruly and reckless, seemingly unreliable. But in fact, Roselynn found herself acknowledging Julian’s underlying depth, his own ideas, and principles.

Most importantly, Roselynn felt his gentle and kind heart that emitted a soft glow, making her feel very comfortable!

Roselynn lifted her glass. “Here, Julian, I toast to you! To a kind future business tycoon!” Julian was slightly taken aback, showing a hint of surprise, but he still raised his glass somewhat awkwardly.

This was the first time his crush had taken the initiative.

“In fact, inheriting the Summerton family’s business may not necessarily be a bad thing!” Roselynn took a sip of her wine after the toast, smiling as she spoke to him.

“If the Summerton family’s business is classified like this, even if you don’t inherit it, the people behind you will definitely let others take over, and they will continue to support armed conflicts and disrupt the world! But if you were in charge, maybe you could do something to prevent wars… My dad taught me this: ‘To stop wrongdoers, you need to be stronger than them, or at least have equal power!’ That is why you might have a chance to make a difference!” she continued.

After hearing her words, Julian, who had been feeling down, suddenly brightened up with a smile and reached out to tightly hold Roselynn’s hand.

Roselynn trembled slightly at Julian’s sudden action.

“Roselynn, you’re absolutely right! But I am not very smart, and sometimes I am afraid I might forget this lesson. If you could always be by my side to remind me and encourage me, I am sure I can do even better!” he said.

This man is quite good at seizing the opportunity! Roselynn thought.

Although she was still a little afraid, she did not resist Julian as she did before. Seeing his expression now, and recalling what he had done for her, softened her heart, and she nodded in agreement.

“We’re good friends, and I’m here for you whenever you need to talk! But just to be clear, let’s keep our relationship strictly as friends. No crossing any lines, okay?” Roselynn explained.

Yes, we’re making progress again. Julian thought excitedly, feeling a sense of progress in his heart, and nodded in agreement.

He understood that patience was key but having Roselynn’s assurance meant a lot to him. Even if they could not take their relationship to the next level, simply being able to spend time together was enough to make him happy!

For now, he was content with how things were progressing!

On the other side, Beatrix sat in Lexi’s car, smiling triumphantly after successfully setting up a solo date between Julian and Roselynn. She grinned and said, “Lexi, it seems like Julian and Roselynn hitting it off, don’t you think?”

Lexi smiled as she gripped the steering wheel. “Yeah, I never thought Julian would agree to inherit the Summerton family just

to impress Roselynn!”
