Love at the Wrong Table (Emmanuel Lowe and Mackenzie) novel Chapter 957

Chapter 957

Regan continued to flatter Severin. “Of course! He became a governor at a young age and is now one of four powerful governors! He keeps a very low profile though, and this might be his first time in Skystream. City, which is why you never met him before.”

“He is young, as you say, but I don’t know if there’s anything about him that can be considered ‘low profile!! “When Kroan thought about the two warrior emperors who would kill Severin soon, he did not care about Severin’s status as a county governor and smiled coldly at him with a hint of contempt.

“Hey, Dad, aren’t there people who are young and capable but eventually die young? I remember that there’s a phrase used to describe such a situation. I wonder what’s it called again?” Walbert had an ideal and asked Kroan on purpose.

Kroan froze for a moment, pretended to think for a while, and finally said, “I think it’s called an untimely demise. It’s a shame, really. Such people are genuinely talented, and they would stand to achieve a lot in their lifetime. It’s incredibly sad when someone like that dies.”

Regan was stunned to hear that, and he wondered if that father-son duo was syncing with each other to make insinuations at Severin, who-as a county governor-had a slightly higher status than them.

Although Skystream City was under the sole purview of the province governor instead of Severin, it did not seem like a good idea to offend someone like that.

“What nonsense are you talking about? I think you’re the ones who will meet your untimely demise!” Diane stepped forward and glared at them. She knew that they were making insinuations at Severin, and she could not hold back her anger anymore when she heard those remarks.

“That’s right! Don’t just shoot your mouth off like that! How could someone as brave as Mister Severin die an untimely demise?” Surina-Regan’s second wife who had targeted Severin before-came forth and spoke on behalf of Severin because she wanted to change her impression in Severin’s eyes.

To everyone’s surprise, Kroan smiled coldly and said, “Hehe, you must’ve misunderstood something. My son has been trying to improve his vocabulary recently, and he’s still in the process of getting to know certain phrases. He was simply asking me a question, and all I did was answer him.”

Walbert immediately cooperated and said, “You’re not worried that he’ll die an untimely demise, are you? My father and I were just discussing certain phrases. You should only read into it if the shoe fits.” After saying that, he deliberately asked his father, “Dad, is the phrase ‘if the shoe fits’ appropriate for me to use in this situation?”

Kroan smiled. “Very much so.”

“That’s great. My vocabulary is improving a lot then.” Walbert deliberately patted his chest as if to comfort himself.

“You…” Both Diane and Megan looked angrily at the two men in front of them, but they could not do anything about it and could only chalk it up to them being good talkers.

“Hehe, uncultured people ought to improve their vocabulary.” Unexpectedly, Severin took a step forward, smiled faintly, and said to Walbert, “By the way, there is another phrase that I think you should learn to use. Do you know what that is?”
