Hearing her emotional words, Molly's vision started to blur because of the mist forming in her eyes. As she remembered that incident that had happened between them, she felt her heart swell. Then she asked in a meaningful tone, "When do you plan on taking the bracelet back from me?"
"Let's talk about that later. Just keep it with you for the time being," Ximena replied in a plain tone with a smile at the corners of her mouth. "I can't find any place else in the world which is safer for it than with you."
Molly rolled her eyes at her flattery. "Then I guess I should start charging a custodian fee," she said.
"Okay. You may regard the bracelet as the custodian fee," Ximena said, as if she didn't care about what happened to it at all.
"Wow," Molly smirked. "You're not sincere at all. I haven't accounted for what you did to me that time. Are you making use of me now? How could you give away the crystal from the jade seal of the Leng Family casually to whomever as a gift?"
"Ah..." Ximena sighed. It was difficult for her to explain all of it in just a few words. As she expected, Molly could do nothing but give up making a fuss about it with her. She chuckled and asked, "When will you come to QY Island again?"
"I will come back sooner or later," Molly replied. A smile appeared on her lips because QY Island was where Brian had actually confessed his love to her for the first time.
Seeing the expression on her face, Ximena was able to guess what she was thinking about. "After all, QY Island is of great significance to you."
"Yeah," Molly answered. "Its significance to me includes you too." She continued, "Ximena, you're my first friend in the word's true sense. I really hope I can witness your happiness when Brian and I come to QY Island next time."
Maybe she should not have said that to Ximena at such a moment, but if she didn't say it now, she was worried that she could never again make Ximena understand that to love somebody didn't only mean staying by his side, and what they needed was not the connection they develop between them via a child. Instead, to be married involved two people sharing their lives, their happiness and sorrows together from the moment they said their vows.
The wedding celebration lasted long, and it was finally dark outside. The countless stars in the black sky made up for a beautiful picture.
Leaning against the rocking chair in the Royal Garden, Ximena looked at the starry sky as the scenes that had happened earlier in the day played in her mind again and again. When she had seen everything that Brian had done for Molly, she had forgotten all about the hardships Molly had suffered to get where she was now. All her attention was on the final result, instead of the whole journey. "The snow that falls from the sky represents my love for you..." They had met each other for the first time on a snowy night. They had many joint memories related to snowy days. Today, Brian had created an artificial snowfall to celebrate their happy ending.
As she thought about all that, Ximena suddenly missed Aaron very much. She was not a hypocritical person. She always spoke her mind, and did what she had to do right away. She stretched her hand to grab her cellphone which was on the British style table next to the rocking chair. She was about to dial Aaron's number when the phone rang.
As soon as she saw the number and name on the screen, a wide smile appeared on her face in an instant. She picked the call. "I was about to call you," she said.
