Chapter 14
Enzo forgot about the odd surge of emotion and hurried to Angleria, where the Camden residence was. He couldn’t wait to see Alyssa. He wanted to apologize to her in person for everything he’d done–it had all been his fault. He hoped she could forgive him.
However, he didn’t manage to even set foot in the house half a month after arriving in Angleria. The way the Camden family’s maids looked at him–like he was their worst enemy -made the reason painfully clear. Even if he were a fool, he could understand why.
Enzo was left with no choice but to wait for Alyssa outside the house. On this day, he finally got to see her. His eyes lit up. He got out of his car and headed toward her, about to call her name when he froze.
Alyssa got out of the car, and a tall figure followed her. He even wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close!
Enzo dropped the gift he held as his blood boiled. “Alyssa!”
Alyssa stiffened when she heard his familiar voice in the distance. A bone–deep fear surged in her, spreading throughout her body.
The voice and tone were much too familiar–Enzo had always barked her name like that whenever he thought she’d harmed Nadine.
Adrian’s eyes glinted coldly when he felt her trembling. He hurriedly patted her back soothingly before telling her to get back into the car. Before shutting the door, he held her hand and said, “Don’t worry, okay? I’m here for you.”
Once he shut the door, he unleashed the iciness in his eyes. He whipped around and punched Enzo hard as the latter stormed over.
In the past, Enzo would’ve immediately reacted and dodged the attack. However, he was much weaker than before because of everything that had happened.
He couldn’t fight back as Adrian’s punch sent him crashing to the ground. Then, he couldn’t even get back on his feet.
