Love in Twilight novel (Clarissa and Damien) novel Chapter 150

Chapter 150 I’ll Force Myself Inside If I Have To

The next day, Clarissa felt a lot better.

“Clary, you have to make it up to Damien, okay? Fate ties you two together, so you have to cherish it,” Theresa said while ladling some porridge into Clarissa’s bowl.

“Fate? Seriously, Mom?” When Clarissa heard the word ‘fate’, she couldn’t help but make a sarcastic remark. In the first place, the reason she was married to him was because of a mistake.

Theresa replied, “Don’t you love your husband? If you do, then stop complaining and listen to me.”

“Okay.” Clarissa compromised.

Deep down, she knew her marriage with Damien wouldn’t last.

“Oh, right, I just remembered. I got a cross for you yesterday. I’ve already given it to Damien. Don’t forget to ask him for it. You can take the opportunity to talk to him too,” Theresa continued, “You can’t expect Damien to put in 100% effort in maintaining your marriage. Love goes both ways, so you’ll have to put in the effort too. That’s how you build a happy family together.”

“Is that how you and dad did it?” Clarissa asked deliberately.

Theresa’s eyes dimmed the moment she heard that.

All of a sudden, Clarissa knew she had said something wrong.

“Clarissa, do you have plans for the Easter holiday with Damien?” Theresa asked carefully.

She wouldn’t want to intrude on the couple’s plans.

“I don’t think so. Why?”

“If that’s the case, can you go back to Pentatone County with me?”

Clarissa didn’t reply to her mother’s question, because she didn’t want to go there. However, she knew Theresa would force her to go no matter what. So, she had no choice but to agree.

Her grandmother’s place was in Pentatone County.

Her grandmother lived with Uncle Peter and Aunt Cindy. Uncle Peter worked as a bus driver, while Aunt Cindy was a stay-at-home wife. When Clarissa needed money for Theresa’s medical expenses, Cindy refused to help her. Cindy’s excuse was that her family didn’t have enough savings, so Clarissa should ask other people for help.

That was the last time Clarissa ever contacted them again.

Although she missed her bed-ridden grandmother dearly, Clarissa knew Cindy wouldn’t welcome her like she used to

Throughout these three years, Clarissa had never gone to Pentatone County to visit her grandmother.

Clarissa also had a cousin named Connie, who was the same age as her and loved to compete with everything she did.

Every time they met, Connie would brag about her achievements on purpose.

Even though Connie was satisfied that she got 99% on her exam, she would go to the extent of tearing Clarissa’s exam papers when she realized that Clarissa got 100%. Clarissa remembered that she had a floral one-piece dress, which was also destroyed by Connie out of jealousy. Most of the time, she wasn’t even being discreet about being a bully. Well, Clarissa figured that Connie enjoyed bathing in a sense of

superiority

Everything that Clarissa didn’t have, Connie would get just to spite her. As for the things that Clarissa had. Connie would make sure she was even better at it.

When they were teenagers, Clarissa reached the height of 168 cm while Connie still remained at 163 cm Looking at Clarissa’s perfect figure and face, Connie couldn’t help but writhe in envy.

After Clarissa cut off contact with her uncle’s family, she never had to endure Connie’s petty behavior anymore.

“Mrs. Cole asked for a three-day leave during the holidays. Why don’t you help me out?” Theresa asked.

“Okay, then. I’ll inform Damien about it. We’ll drive there together,” Clarissa promised.

If they were to board the bus, Theresa would’ve doubted Clarissa’s relationship with Damien

“I don’t want to trouble him too much,” Theresa said worriedly.

Clarissa chuckled. “What do you mean by that? He’s your son-in-law!”
