Chapter 212 Gap After Theresa left with Emily, Vanessa quickly brought Patrick back to their room.

Damien and Clarissa went back to their room as well.

Damien sat on the sofa, a cigarette in his mouth.

“Did you do this to my brother?” Clarissa asked as she stared pointedly at him.

Damien flicked his cigarette before saying, “Did I force him to gamble? He did this to himself.”

“But you gave him the money!” Clarissa yelled.

“Clarissa, I’m rich too. So why didn’t I gamble? How could I have predicted that he’d gamble off all the money?”

That killed off everything Clarissa wanted to say. Indeed, Luke had never gambled in the past. Thus, there was no way Damien would know. In the first place, the money that Damien gave Luke was for his engagement.

It was Luke who did this to himself.

Clarissa knew she shouldn’t be blaming Damien, but…

“The house is under his name. What is there that I can do?” Damien answered helplessly. Though Luke wasn’t her biological brother, Clarissa still cared about him. She couldn’t possibly let Luke end up so terribly.

Still, she also knew she couldn’t blame Damien if he didn’t want to help. After all, it wasn’t Damien’s fault.

Luke was wholly responsible for the problem. “Let’s… Let’s just sleep.” Clarissa sighed, at her wit’s end. But then she began to worry about her mother, and so she texted Theresa. After that, Theresa texted her back (Clarissa, don’t ask Damien for help anymore. Your brother and Emily will be staying in their house tonight. They’ll look for a new place tomorrow.
