Chapter 32 Madam, You Must Be Tired On Sunday noon, Clarissa informed Damten about a training session in the afternoon. Damien was drinking a bowl of soup and said calmly, “Get Mrs. Faber to accompany you.” “Hubby, you really keep your word!” Clarissa was delighted.
“You don’t need to flatter me. Don’t even think about going if something happens again.” Damien picked up a tissue and wiped his hands. Clarissa stuck out her tongue and thought to herself, ‘I can’t hide anything from Damien…’ Clarissa saw Nicole in the training session. She did not expect Nicole to stutter when she spoke. Nicole’s body was even trembling slightly as if she was a little scared.
“Clarissa, I’m really sorry about what happened last time,” Nicole said, “My brother shouldn’t have treated you like that.”
“It’s okay. You can’t control your brother’s behavior.” Clarissa understood how Nicole felt because she also had a good-for-nothing brother.
This time, Nicole deliberately hid in a corner of the classroom far away from Clarissa.
Clarissa was a little puzzled.
When Joseph came into the classroom, his gaze instinctively fell on Clarissa.
Although Nicole was resentful, she bowed her head and kept quiet.
Damien broke Anthony’s leg and specially asked someone to call Nicole over to witness it. It looked like he was warning Nicole by using her brother as an example so that Nicole would know her place.
This was the first time that Nicole saw Damien Lawrence getting angry, so how could she not be afraid?
In order to avoid provoking Damien, Clarissa avoided Joseph’s gaze and walked out of the classroom right after class.
When Mrs. Faber saw Clarissa, she smiled and said, “Madam, you must be tired!” “I’m not tired. It’s just a class.” Clarissa and Mrs. Faber left.
Joseph frowned as he walked behind them. The last time when Clarissa said that Damien was her husband, Joseph asked Luke about it, but Luke denied it. However, the Lawrence family’s maid came to pick Clarissa up in person. What was going on?
Joseph decided to investigate this matter in person. Two days later, Joseph threw a copy of Clarissa’s and Damien’s marriage license in front of Luke.
“See for yourself!”
Joseph was naturally furious. After all, Luke tried to introduce his sister to him.
“What’s going on?” Luke picked it up and looked at it in disbelief,
“Lincoln Moore? Is Joseph Moore his son?” Damien frowned tightly.
“Yes. Besides, our mother is sick, so we need money. The hospitalization costs 100,000 dollars a month, and the caregiver’s monthly salary is 10,000 dollars. You should give at least five years’ worth of money in case of an emergency, don’t you think?”
“How much do you want?” Damien asked calmly.
Luke stretched out his hand and gestured with his fingers. “Five million dollars.”
Damien laughed as if he was laughing at how foolish Luke’s demand was.
“I can get you a job, but my money doesn’t just fall from the sky,” Damien said calmly. “If you don’t give it to me, I’ll get Clarissa to divorce you! Anyway, Joseph and Clarissa are in love with each other and regret that they didn’t meet each other sooner. Joseph won’t mind if Clarissa gets a divorce.” Luke could not hold back and threatened Damien as he got up from the sofa.
“You can talk to her first before coming to me,” Damien said coldly. Seeing that Damien did not fall for it, Luke became angry. “I’ll go to your office and spread the news about your marriage!”
“Oh? Be my guest. It’ll help to stop all those random women from flirting with me.” Damien laughed again.
Luke was speechless. He could not get anything from Damien, so he left in a huff.
