Love in Twilight novel (Clarissa and Damien) novel Chapter 486

Clarissa went to wash up. At the staircase, she could see some people carrying boxes. Damien was sitting on the sofa.

“Put them in the car,” Damien ordered.

“Oh, Mr. Lawrence! You’re so nice to Madam. You even bought all these snacks for her!” Mrs. Faber gushed. In truth, she felt rather awkward over the fact that her son was in love with Clarissa.

Damien lifted his head, and his eyes met Clarissa’s.

“She doesn’t appreciate it,” Damien mumbled, turning away quickly.

“Madam has been away for three years, so she must have changed. The changes aren’t very big, but you still need to be understanding.” Mrs. Faber tried to explain.

“Do I have to?” Damien looked at Clarissa again, sullen.

At that moment, Damien was filled with regret and jealousy.

He wasn’t with Clarissa during her worst days. Instead, another man grabbed the chance and stayed by her side.

But just like what Mrs. Faber said, people change. Before, he would have his way Clarissa and tormented her regardless of anything. Now, he held himself back.

Before Clarissa could say anything, Neil ran toward her and hugged her leg.

“Mommy! Daddy’s so nice to you, he bought two boxes of apples for you. Didn’t I tell you that daddy’s rich, and that you’ll be happy with him?” Neil said.

Clarissa couldn’t help but laugh. She patted his head and cooed, “Mommy’s going to work now. Make sure you listen to your daddy, okay? Be a good boy.”

“I am a good boy!” Neil reassured her.
