The moment Clarissa opened the door and found Damien standing there, her temper flared. “When are you planning to go home and check on Neil?!” she screamed.
“When will you stop going on about this? You never shut up about Neil! Do you even care about me?” Damien was still thinking about his rival, Seth. Each word that left his lips was strongly enunciated.
Although Damien liked being tough, he was stuck between a rock and a hard place after knowing about Clarissa and Seth. Even though he was angry, he had to hold back. Besides, he had already messed things up big time with Clarissa. He didn’t want to hurt her even more.
Clarissa ignored Damien’s rudeness and went back to her desk.
“Are you going home?” Clarissa asked. “If you’re going home now, I’m going with you.”
“I’m not going!” Damien shouted.
Clarissa laughed. “You can play happy family with someone else’s son, but you don’t care that your own son is sick? You’re so generous, Damien! Are you Neil’s father or not?”
Hearing this, Damien immediately knew Clarissa was referring to himself and Chanel.
There were many people on the university campus, and they all knew each other. It was inevitable that Clarissa would find out about this.
“Jealous?” he asked.
Clarissa got even more angry. “Get out! Get out!”
“Don’t you point at me!” Damien had truly gotten angry now.
In so many years, Damien had never been so furious with Clarissa before.
More accurately, he was pissed at Seth.
“Get out!” Clarissa shouted at Damien, stomping her foot furiously.
“Right now,” Damien answered in a deep voice.
Clarissa wrenched herself out of Damien’s embrace. She had received a Whatsapp message herself. It had been sent to the group with Charles.
Charles: [If you have time, please come by to look at the rendering. Of course, I’ll send everyone a copy. However, I think you should come and see for yourselves. It is truly amazing.]
Clarissa wanted to know just how amazing it was. She had decided this already. She wanted to buy a house in Ashland, so she wanted to go and take a look.
“Are you coming?” Damien asked, walking to the door.
Clarissa didn’t respond, but she grabbed her bag and followed Damien out the door.
On the way there, neither of them spoke. Damien seemed to be in a terrible mood. As they waited at red lights, he kept blaring the horn. This was a rare occurrence, for he was usually an even-tempered man, reserved and easygoing.
