While the three were busy talking, Damien’s driver entered.
“Hello, Mrs. Lawrence. I’m here to help you move.”
Clarissa looked around for things to give Rem and Lisa.
With how soon she was leaving for Genovia and teaching in the University of Genovia, everything felt like a surreal dream.
Bethany came to visit Clarissa afterwards, with the excuse to pass some things to Mrs. Faber.
Damien was at home when Bethany dropped by, but he went upstairs and gave them privacy.
The happiest person in this entire ordeal was, of course, Neil.
Even then, Mrs. Faber thought that Clarissa was embarrassed to apologize to her and used Bethany as an excuse to make it up to her. Little did Mrs. Faber know, Bethany was aiming to be her daughter-in-law and was trying to bond with her.
“Text Caleb and tell him that I bought clothes for his mother.” Bethany nudged Clarissa’s elbow.
“Why not do it yourself?”
“I don’t have his number!”
Just as Clarissa was about to say something, Bethany interrupted, “Oh, and make sure you don’t address me as someone older than him.”
Clarissa rolled her eyes. Still, she did as Bethany requested and texted Caleb.
[I’m going to the University and Genovia soon, and Bethany bought some clothes for your mom. She seems to like them.]
Caleb was in his training and only replied during lunchtime. [Who’s Bethany?]
[She’s a gynecologist. She was my doctor.] Clarissa replied.
She didn’t mention that Bethany was her university friend as she was afraid that Caleb would mind the age gap.
When it was lunchtime, Damien went downstairs.
