He noticed that even though her eyes looked exhausted, they were still sparkling.

Terence moved closer, embraced her and said, "Don't be sad, my dear wife. No matter what happens in the future, I will never leave your side. Even the fierce floods couldn't separate us, let alone some petty gossip!"

Carla felt calm as he said those endearing words, she leaned on Terence's shoulder and smiled.

Terence squeezed her even closer and with a smile he said, "I'll still protect you! Even if everyone in my family abandons me, I'll be happy as long as you are with me!"

Terence's voice was very gentle and affectionate, making Carla feel safe and cozy inside.
