Love My Friends with Benefits novel Chapter 1

"Where are you? Wanna meet up?"

I was having drinks with my best friend, May Lee, at Greenchy Bar when I received Leonard Nell's slightly provocative message on Whatsapp.

I was a little hesitant at first, but my desire defeated my rationality in the end.

Leonard was the type of man who could make me drop all my arrogance and aloofness with a single sentence or glance.

After saying goodbye to May, I left the bar and hailed a taxi. I headed straight to the address that Leonard had sent to me, Westin Hotel.

There was a sort of sensuality to the night, and my heart soared with deep-seated thirst.

...

My heart pounded as I stood in front of the hotel room and knocked on the door.

This was not our first time together. I did not know why I was feeling so nervous.

Leonard was like a beast waiting to pounce. The moment I entered the room, he pushed me up against the wall with a ferocity that made me tremble.

His lips met mine suddenly and passionately, and I could smell the alcohol wafting off of him. He seemed to be rather grim.

I did not push him away. In fact, after a short daze, I returned his kiss with equal fervor.

He only had a bathrobe on while I was clad in a black lace dress. His hands roamed over my body and set my heart on fire.

I was no stranger to this body. Leonard was overpoweringly masculine, with toned muscles all over and a handsome face that made women swoon.

We continued kissing from the door to the bed. In just a short while, we were both bare.

I was not a promiscuous woman, but I ended up in bed with him the very next day.

After a few occurrences, we became friends with benefits. I knew almost nothing about him, and he never volunteered any information. All I could vaguely tell was that he was rich.

We agreed that this was only meant to be a no-strings-attached arrangement and that we would not pry into or affect each other's lives.

When Leonard walked out of the bathroom and started to get dressed, he said to me indifferently, "Queena, this is our last rendezvous."

I wanted to act like I did not care, but my heart still twinged painfully.

"Why? Have you found a new lover?" I could not resist asking.

"Queena, have you forgotten about the rules of our game?" Leonard's tone was indifferent and distant.
