Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia) novel Chapter 226

Cordelia suddenly understood why Little Flame had been so insistent on playing one-on-one matches with her lately, and why he only chose the role of an archer.

Staring blankly at Yates, she suddenly realized, “You’ve been challenging me to one-on-ones lately to teach me how to play the archer, haven’t you?”

Yates remained silent, causing Cordelia to furrow her brows, feeling a sudden heaviness in her heart. Why didn't Floyd want Little Flame on the team?

She clenched her jaw and spoke up, “I don’t want to keep playing one-on-one. Actually, I’d rather be on your team.”

She had researched Floyd’s team when he first invited her. The other four members were injured, and they were short on players.

She didn't necessarily have to play as an archer; she was also skilled as a support, a formidable mid-lane mage, and could even learn to be a top laner. Little Flame was exceptionally good as an archer. He would fit perfectly in the team.

Yet, Floyd merely clenched his jaw and, looking down, finally met Cordelia’s gaze, “Lia, would you consider playing as the archer?”

Seeing Floyd still rejecting Little Flame at this point irked Cordelia.

She tightened her jaw and said, “You two figure it out and let me know. I’m stepping out.”

As she turned to leave, she caught Everard giving Floyd a piercing look, his gaze icy, causing Floyd to stiffen.

Floyd didn't dare look back as Everard scoffed and followed Cordelia out.

The moment he left the room, Floyd broke out in a cold sweat.

Outside, Merry was waiting for Cordelia. As they walked, they overheard nurses gossiping about a patient receiving special treatment from the hospital director and staying in a super VIP room, hinting at the patient's affluent background.

The director, showing up with a respectful demeanor, assured them that the patient was doing well after surgery and would need about three months of careful stomach care post-discharge.
