Upon returning to the company and entering the office, I was told that Selena wanted to see me.
The moment I stepped into Selena's office, she lifted her gaze, appearing to have completely forgotten our conversation from the day before. She asked, "Hud, where have you been? Why didn't you report your leave? Don't you know that our company policy requires advance notice for time off?"
I frowned at Selena as I explained, "I have something important to attend to. Didn't I tell you yesterday that I planned to take the day off?"
Selena was perplexed after hearing this. "Did you really mention it yesterday? I can't seem to recall."
Selena had always been forgetful, particularly when it came to my concerns, so I wasn't taken aback. She didn't give me a moment to breathe, gesturing toward the stack of documents on her desk. "Here, help me with these."
I quietly began sorting through Selena's documents, reading quickly as usual. After marking the important ones, I received a message from Zion. "There's a meeting at 1:00 pm on the fourth floor. Please remind Selena to attend."
I was puzzled about the nature of the meeting on the fourth floor, especially since Zion had to message me to remind Selena about it.
"Selena, there's a meeting scheduled on the fourth floor at 1:00 pm. When do you intend to head over?" I inquired.
Selena paused, looking annoyed. "It's frustrating to argue with those old fogies again."
