Chapter 132
Upon seeing the look in Julianne’s eyes, I was sure of my suspicions.
She definitely did try to set me up all those years ago. She just hadn’t anticipated that I would suddenly regain awareness and leave the hotel.
Julianne had always been meticulous. As such, the depths of her mind were unfathomable.
Right now, she had failed to harm me and ended up harming herself instead. Still, it was possible she had anticipated this current outcome when she schemed to gain control over Phillip.
Her goal had been to climb into his bed, and she needed to figure out a way to do so. In the end, Phillip had unknowingly helped her by drugging and seducing her.
Regardless of how she achieved her goal, she was going to make herself out to be the victim.
And given this, she probably figured she would harm me in the process if she could. Even if she couldn’t, she would still walk away from this situation unscathed.
I had to admit, Julianne really had thought everything out thoroughly. Every step was calculated, and each cleared her of any guilt.
She was truly impressive, and there was no way I would be able to match her in this aspect.
This was how things had always been ever since she joined my family. Each time, it had been apparent that she was the culprit. Yet, time and time again, I had never been able to prove it.
I truly couldn’t match her when it came to plotting and scheming. This was a fact I couldn’t deny.
She had such a conniving and calculating nature. Because of this, often thought she would be successful if she had applied this
to her studies or career.
I even believed she could have been a self–made woman, and she wouldn’t even need to climb into someone else’s bed.
Irvin had rushed over to the police station upon hearing news of Julianne’s acquittal.
When he saw her sincerely apologize to me, he sighed in relief. “See, Emi? I was right, wasn’t I? Lianne never meant to set you up or frame you! She just misunderstood you!”
Julianne gazed triumphantly at me as Irvin spoke.
It was as though she was saying I wouldn’t be able to beat her no matter what I did. Irvin would always believe her over me, regardless.
Everyone was currently focused on Irvin.
Taking advantage of this moment, she leaned close to my ear.
“Irvin didn’t even bother to look into things when you were detained, Millie,” she whispered. “Yet, when I was detained, he spent a little over a day to uncover the truth. He was faster and more efficient than your legal team.”
She gloated. “See how much he loves me?”
Julianne intended to provoke me. She wanted me to lose my cool.
I didn’t know when I had offended her. From the moment she joined my family, she had always had it out for me. Because of this, she would set me up in all sorts of ways.
She lived for my suffering. She absolutely loved provoking me and seeing me lose my cool.

Too bad for her, I was no longer the person I used to be.
looked at her and smiled.
“My my, he really does love you so much. You should tell him to hurry up and divorce me. Then, tell him to marry you quick!” I said, my tone even more antagonizing than hers.
The smug look on her face instantly froze. Her eyes burned with hatred.
Given everything that had happened, Julianne knew it was even more impossible for Irvin to marry her.
It didn’t matter that she had been acquitted. Her reputation had been stained by all the things she had done.
