And somehow, Irvin chose this exact momIn her eyes, Emilia wanting the divorce was perfect.ent to bother me at my home.
With Julianne acquitted, I no longer had any bargaining leverage over him. Everything we had discussed was now moot.
Unless it was about collecting our divorce certificate, I didn’t want to say another word to him.
Oblivious to my frustration, he said, “I told you Lianne wouldn’t intentionally hurt you! But you refused to believe me!”
It was obvious Irvin was especially relieved by the outcome of the investigation. He was glad Julianne hadn’t hurt me on purpose. Otherwise, he wouldn’t know how to face me.
I looked at him in exasperation.
Just as I was about to ask him to get lost, he spoke again.
“I’ve calculated all the assets under my name, babe. Here’s the voluntary asset transfer memorandum. And this is the newly drafted divorce agreement per your request.
“I’ve already signed it, so only your signature is missing. Once you’ve signed it, all that’s left is to have it notarized,” he happily declared.
I looked at him in disbelief.
All this time, I thought he had only agreed to transfer his assets just to appease me. I thought he had said it merely for show.
I assumed he had said those empty words to manipulate me into dropping the lawsuit against Julianne.
Despite believing all this, I played along because I had my own agenda. I hadn’t thought he would actually follow through on his
words.
As such, I never expected him to be genuinely willing to transfer all his assets to me.
“What’s the matter, babe? Didn’t think I was serious?” Irvin asked with a smile. “You know you’ve always been the most important person to me.”
Despite everything that had happened, I was still the most important person in his heart. I supposed I had to be. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to let go of all the pain and betrayal.
He continued, “Nothing in this world matters more than you! If you want something of mine, it’s yours! If you want something I don’t have, I’ll find a way to get it for you. Even if I have to die for it!”
He had spoken with such deep devotion. However, I found it utterly revolting.
He didn’t trust me at all. Moreover, he believed everything Julianne said. Time and time again, he had chosen to believe her over me. Even now, he still believed her instead of me.
And yet, he still had the audacity to say I was his most important person.
He had continually chosen to let me die. Is this what it meant to be his most important person? If so, his love was awful! It was truly nauseating!
That being said, his wealth was quite appealing. It became even more so when it meant he would be left with nothing once I had
it all.
Most importantly, without his resources. he would no longer be able to help Julianne in any way. It’ll also make it harder for her to continue causing trouble.
I carefully reviewed the documents in my living room. Once I confirmed everything was in order, I signed them. Then, I put them away to get them notarized.

Irvin visibly relaxed in his seat once I was done.
“You don’t know how painful and difficult these past two years have been for me, babe,” he said.
For two years, he could neither love nor hate me wholeheartedly. He also couldn’t let go of his feelings for me. He had lived in
agony.
Hence, knowing it was all a misunderstanding had brought him immense relief.
