Love You Like I Used To Forget It (Millie Bridge) novel Chapter 411

Chapter 411

The masked man didn’t answer Grace’s question. Instead, he said, Have your people immediately look into who owns this building. There must be another exit on the top floor.

People couldn’t vanish into thin air, especially under the effects of the drug Grace had given Irvin. So, if there wasn’t any trace of Irvin on the top floor, it could only mean he had escaped through some hidden passage.

And even if he had, given the severity of the drug’s effects, he wouldn’t have the strength to go far. This meant he had to be hiding somewhere in the building.

If Grace wanted to find him quickly but discreetly, the best way for her to do so was to find out who owned the building. From there, she would be able to know if there was a hidden passage.

She frowned and was about to speak, but the masked man beat her to it.

You only get one shot, so you’d better focus on finding him,he said tauntingly.

With that, the masked man turned and left. He might have lost his prey, but he had plenty of chances.

Grace, on the other hand, wouldn’t. With Irvin’s personality, if she failed to get what she wanted from him tonight, he would destroy her.

She already knew this without the masked man pointing it out. She had found him suspicious and yet oddly familiar. However, she didn’t have time to dwell on it. Instead, she focused on getting her people to find out who owned the building.

No matter what, Grace had to find Irvin before the night was over.

Emma kept glancing at me on the way back. She wanted to ask what had happened and had opened her mouth several times. However, upon seeing how obviously I didn’t want to talk about it, she stayed quiet.

I leaned back in the rear seat and closed my eyes. My mind was in chaos.

All I did was attend a simple networking dinner. I never would’ve expected something like this to happen.

Irvin was already fixated on getting back together with me and was unwilling to let me go. And now, after what had happened, he would only cling harder.

My head began aching at this thought. I had no clue how to face him once he woke up.

My thoughts were still spinning by the time I arrived home. Suddenly, it hit me. Irvin had gone to the lounge because he had been drugged, and I had left him there alone. While few people knew about the lounge, it still wasn’t completelys

I really didn’t want to have anything more to do with him. And even after what had happened, I still didn’t plan on restarting anything with him. Still, I couldn’t just sit back and watch him be harmed by someone else.

I immediately ordered my bodyguards to return to the building and move Irvin somewhere else.

After Cordelia’s fiancé left, she had been staying with me these past few days.

Last night, I hadn’t told her I wouldn’t be coming home, nor called her. My phone had been off when she called. I wasn’t at the lab when she called there, either. Because of this, she had been worried sick.

Cordelia had just finished getting dressed. She was on her way to the police station to file a report when she saw me returning.

The moment she saw me, she ran up to me and was about to scold he. But then, a line of black jeeps pulled up neatly in front of
