Lisa didn’t respond to my comment. Instead, she noticed that something was off with me. “What’s w with you? You look worn out, like you’ve just done something naughty.” 

Her sharp observation skills as a gynecologist were spot on–she could tell something was off and even guessed the reason behind it. 

I pursed my lips and said, “I am a little exhausted.” 

Lisa’s eyes widened. “You… Are you for real? With who?” 

The first part of her sentence was understandable, but the last two words were a bit shocking to me. 

I glanced around to make sure no one else was nearby and bit my lip. “Lisa, who do you think it was?” 

She studied me for a few seconds. “Brandon?” 

I didn’t deny it. Lisa nodded and then shook her head “I never expected this. Chris was with you for ten years, yet he couldn’t beat Brandon–a latecomer has taken the lead.” 

I was left speechless by her remark. 

“What happened? Did you force yourself on him?” Lisa really overestimated me. 

I coughed lightly. “It was mutual.” 

That made Lisa laugh. She was clearly teasing me. I glared at her and said, “What are you laughing at? It really was mutual. I didn’t force anything.” 

“That doesn’t matter. What matters is that you got to be with such a handsome and well–built man. No regrets,” Lisa said, her words hitting the mark as always.
