I got the gist of what he was saying. “Mr. Roulder, do you have any specific arrangements? Do you need me to go on a business trip?” 

Xander nodded. “You’ll have to go for two days.” 

I had just finished the morning meeting and hadn’t heard of any new dealings, so this must have been a last–minute assignment from Xander. 

“Where am I going? And what’s the purpose?” I had to ask for details. 

“Well… Il confirm that later.” Xander’s response left me speechless. 

He wasn’t ready to give me more information, so I didn’t press him further. I quickly finished up all my current tasks and got everything in order. 

By 10:30 am, I finally had a moment to rest. I grabbed my cup and headed to the break room. Just as I reached the door, I overheard two women gossiping inside. 

“The new engineer, Mr. Howell, looks so handsome. Those cargo pants he’s wearing today make his legs look really long.” 

“Isn’t that a little exaggerated? I think you’ve got a crush on him. But I remember you used to be into Mr. Roulder.” 

“Yeah, I used to think Mr. Roulder was alright, but ever since Mr. Howell came…” The woman sighed. “Mr. 

aman Roulder doesn’t look so good anymore. 

I couldn’t help but smile at how ruthless their words were. 

“From now on, Mr. Howell is my one and only crush. No one can be compared to him!” The woman finished speaking just as I entered the break room. 

They noticed me and greeted me with a smile. “Ms. Crown, are you having tea or coffee?” 

I held my cup up. “I’ll help myself.” 

I made myself a cup of coffee and sat down with them. So, you’ve fallen for our new engineer?” 

“Yes, he’s just too handsome! I heard he used to be in the military,” one of the women said without any hesitation in front of me. 

“He is quite striking.” I agreed with her as I sipped my coffee. 

Hearing me say that seemed to excite the women even more. “Ms. Crown, you and Mr. Howell are both in the upper management. Could you help us find out if he has a girlfriend?” 

I pressed my lips together, trying hard not to laugh. 

“Sure.” I agreed.
