“Lie down. Let me listen,” Keith said as he took the stethoscope from around his neck. 

We all watched anxiously. Even Brandon, who usually remained calm under pressure, was visibly tense. 

However, this was just a check–up, not a surgery. 

I saw once again how much he cherished her. I reached out and held his hand. He turned to look at me, and I gave him a reassuring nod. 

Ellie didn’t move. She just stared at Keith as if she were frozen in place. 

Upon noticing this, Lisa stepped forward and bent down slightly. “Lie down so Mr. Marrow can listen to your heartbeat. It won’t hurt.” 

Ellie had already met Lisa earlier and had taken an immediate liking to her. 

It was only then that Ellie blinked and obediently lay down. 

I noticed her cheeks had turned red, like the flowers blooming in her little garden. My heart tightened as I looked into her eyes, which sparkled brighter than ever. 

I glanced at Keith, who was pressing the stethoscope against Ellie’s chest. He was focused solely on his task. 

A man who was serious about his work was truly captivating, especially when he was as handsome as Keith. 

Oh no! Ellie had definitely fallen for him. 

“Your heartbeat is a bit fast. Are you feeling unwell?” Keith asked while looking at her. 

She pursed her lip and shook her head but then nodded. 

He remained patient. “Are you feeling well or not?” 

“A bit flustered,” she said while still staring at him.
