“Maddie, you’re really clingy.” Ellie’s comment made me a bit embarrassed. But she then added playfully,” But I really like it.”

I stepped out of the ward and glanced down the corridor. It was empty.

My heart tightened slightly upon hearing this. 

Over the past few days, I had been debating whether to investigate the brake issue from the accident further. But it seemed that he was already doing that.
