Luna Aurora novel (Alpha Fenrir) novel Chapter 216

Chapter 216

Elyra sat at the edge of the creek near the cabin, her knees pulled to her chest. The water rushed past her feet, its coolness grounding her in the midst of her swirling thoughts.

She hadn’t been able to shake the image of Dain standing over the bear, his eyes wild, his movements impossibly strong and fast. It wasn’t normal. None of what they could do was normal.

Her senses seemed sharper lately—she could hear the distant call of a bird, the rustling of leaves miles away. The moonlight felt like a balm on her skin, soothing and invigorating her all at once.

She glanced at her reflection in the water, her silver hair gleaming like molten light. Who am I?

“You’ve been out here all morning,” Matthew’s voice called from behind her.

Elyra turned, watching him approach with his usual calm demeanor, but something in her chest tightened. She rose to her feet, her fists clenching at her sides.

“What aren’t you telling us?” she asked abruptly.

Matthew blinked, taken aback. “What are you talking about?”

“Dain and I… we’re not normal,” she said, her voice trembling with both anger and fear. “You’ve seen it. The way we heal, the way he fought that bear—it’s not human. And you’re telling me you don’t know anything about where we came from?”
