Chapter 24
Arianna leaned against the balcony railing of the pack house, her gaze fixed on the distant tree line. Below, the pack grounds buzzed with activity as wolves prepared for the Alpha’s departure. She smirked to herself, the sight stirring a mix of irritation and satisfaction.
“Going to retrieve his precious Luna,” she murmured under her breath. “How predictable.”
Behind her, a soft knock sounded at the door. She turned to see one of her loyal allies—a lean wolf with sharp eyes and a knack for gathering information—enter the room.
“What do you have for me?” Arianna asked, her tone clipped.
The wolf hesitated, then handed her a rolled-up parchment. “Nathan’s scouts have confirmed Aurora’s location. She’s with Cassian’s pack, as you suspected. But there’s more.”
Arianna unfurled the parchment, scanning the hastily scribbled report. Her eyes narrowed as she read. “Pregnant,” she whispered, her lips curling into a cold smile. “So, the little mouse has been hiding quite the secret.”
She rolled the parchment back up, tossing it onto the desk. “And Fenrir doesn’t know?”
The wolf shook his head. “No, my lady. Not yet.”
“Good,” Arianna said, her voice dripping with malice. “I’ll deal with her before he has the chance. If Aurora’s carrying his heirs, then she’s more of a threat than I thought.”
The wolf hesitated. “If you act against her, it might expose your… position.”
